AGAINST THE DAY was slow away when the gates opened and failed to muster speed in the early stages.
S Hillebrand rider of seconded placed ALCARNTSPELL lodged on objection against BUCK ‘N’ SPIN being declared the winner alleging interference rounding the home turn.
Stewards having heard the evidence from the parties involved and viewing the stewards patrol film, dismissed the objection and declared carried weight.
It was established that when taking a tight run on the inside of BUCK ‘N’ SPIN, ALCARNTSPELL had a tendency to lay out and for this reason was impeded for a short distance near 400 metres.

Near the 600 metres GLASGOW JIM had to be eased when tightened for room by PRUSSIAN EMPRESS (V Arnott) which shifted in. Ms V Arnott was advised that she must ensure she is 2 lengths clear when shifting ground in future.
