Race 1 Ladbrokes Handicap 1200 metres

General: On inquiry Stewards established that at the 600m  MA CHITA (L Crow) shifted out slightly and became unbalanced after making contact with TOUCH OF FLO (M Hart) which had rolled in and ANOTHER MAN’S LOSS (C Spry) which also become momentarily unbalanced.  Stewards took no further action in regards to this incident.

ANOTHER MAN’S LOSS (C Spry) – Bumped with another runner at the 600m momentarily becoming unbalanced.

WINGARD (P Denton) – Commenced slow into stride. Bumped with another runner at the top of the straight causing its rider to lose his foot out of the off side stirrup iron and unable to test his mount for some distance.

BELLONA BELLE (R Vigar) – Commenced a little awkwardly.

MA CHITA (L Crow) – Commenced a little awkwardly. Shifted out slightly at the 600m. Momentarily restricted for room between runners at the 600m bumping with another runner on several occasions. Bumped with another runner at the top of the straight.

PENNY FACE (P Crich) – Steadied off heels at the 900m when racing a little keenly.

HARD WORK REWARDS (Z Gibbs) – Commenced slow into stride and raced wide throughout.

TOUCH OF FLO (M Hart) – Rolled in slightly at the 600m and bumped with another runner.

Race 2: Arthur J Gallagher Handicap 1200 metres

Prior to this race, Stewards interviewed trainer L Gillett in regards to the riding instructions she intended to give each rider bearing in mind she had multiple runners in this event.

LUNA METEOR (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.  When questioned regarding the  disappointing performance rider reported that once his mount got back in the field the gelding resented the kickback and was reluctant to stretch out.

SHOOT N SCOOT (V Arnott) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted out at the 100m and bumped with another runner.

ALPHA SON (L Crow) – Dipped slightly on jumping.

OAKFIELD REBEL (C Spry) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

DU BOIS (B Huppatz) – After being unruly in the mounting enclosure the gelding underwent a veterinary inspection on arriving at the barriers when found to have a small amount of blood in the mouth but was subsequently cleared to compete. Bumped with another runner at the 100m.

SWIMMER (J Todd) – Slow into stride and bumped with another runner.

Race 3: Lasseters Handicap 1000 metres

Prior to this race, Stewards interviewed trainer W Savage in regards to the riding instructions he intended to give each rider bearing in mind he had multiple runners in this event.

SUPER BRYAN (L Crow) – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.

MOOT (Z Gibbs) – Momentarily restricted for room between runners on jumping.

REMBRANDT (M Hart) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

RHYTHM OF CUBA (B Huppatz) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

EMPRESS O’REILLY (P Denton) – Raced wide throughout. 

Race 4: First National Framptons Handicap 1000 metres

Prior to this race, Stewards interviewed trainer L Whittle in regards to the riding instructions she intended to give each rider bearing in mind she had multiple runners in this event.

LADWELL was a late scratching at the barriers by order of the Stewards at 4:21 after refusing to load. As there was no book maker on course, deductions were not applicable. Mr G Cooke representing trainer Mr M Nyhan was advised that the gelding must now compete in 2 barrier trials to the satisfaction of the Stewards with the emphasis being on loading in a more timely and reasonable manner. Stewards took into consideration the gelding’s previous record in relation to its race day manners.

VIA MAZZINI (P Crich) – Raced wide throughout.

BONSAI BOY (V Arnott) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and inclined to lay outwards in running.

MITOCHONDRIA (M Hart) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner

PARKINSON (L Crow) – Bumped with another runner on jumping momentarily unbalancing its rider.

Race 5: Red Centre Inglis Handicap 1400 metres

BEL’S LAD (L Crow) – Returned having bled from one nostril. Trainer was advised of his requirements under AR53A(4)(b).

I WROTE THE BOOK (M Hart) – Taken in by another runner going into the first turn.

HANTUCHOVA (P Denton) – Shifted inwards going into the first turn. Rider reminded of his obligations to give riders on his inside more room when shifting inwards.

RANDI (V Arnott) – Reared as start was effected and lost some ground. Raced wide rounding the first turn.

ZOOM LAD (J Todd) – Steadied off heels into the first turn. Returned having bled from one nostril. Trainer advised of his requirements under AR53A(4)(b).

SWIVET (R Vigar) – Lost ground at the 400m after its rider took hold and checked his mount. When questioned rider reported that he had attempted to take a run along the inside of another runner but took hold when realising there was not enough room for the run.
