Race 1:TROBIS 3 & 4-Y-O 1100m

OMBROMANI (P Denton) – Hung outwards in running and raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities

HALOGEM (P Shiers) – Slow to muster early speed.

TUSCARORA (V Arnott) – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.

REWARD FOR RICHES (C Spry) – Trainer C Spry reported that the mare had received a knock to the near knee en route to the course and after undergoing a veterinary examination was cleared to compete.

WILD BRITT (J Todd) – The veterinarian reported that the mare returned with a self inflicted abrasion to the near hind leg. Lay outwards in running. Momentarily steadied leaving the 100m.

Race 2: 0 - 62 Handicap 1100m

GRANDE CASTAGNO (S Ridler) – Raced keenly in the early stages, and as a result got its head in the air when crossed by another runner near the 900m. The gelding continued to race ungenerously for some distance. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

EJAYTEE (F Bergstrand) – Bounded at the start

Race 3: 0 - 58 Handicap 1300m

EXERT  (V Arnott) – Tightened for room and restrained from the heels of a compounding runner near the 250m.

SENIOR COUNCIL (W Davis) – Raced wide throughout.

STRATEGIC JEUNY (J Todd) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount did not travel comfortably in running and was hard ridden prior to straightening and failed to finish the race off as anticipated.

MERVEILLE (R Oakford) – Raced without cover in running.

OAKFIELD SUNRISE (C Spry) – Commenced awkwardly and got its head in the air.

HEIRDOM (B Huppatz) – Commenced to compound on straightening and shifted inwards near the 250m causing interference to another runner. The gelding returned having bled from both nostrils and trainer K Lamprecht was advised of the provisions of AR53.

KATCH NICCONI (S Ridler) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 4: Maiden Plate 1200m

BAGGINS (R Vigar) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Shifted inwards under pressure leaving the 150m. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount was having its first start on the track and had shown a tendency to lay outwards through the middle stages, however the gelding had not finished the race off as anticipated. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

OLIVARES (S Ridler) – Raced wide throughout.

BUSH CHOOK (P Shiers) – Bounded at the start.

PINCENTIA (B Davis) – Bumped at the start.

Race 5: 0 - 66 Handicap 1200m

BANCROFT (F Bergstrand) – Commenced awkwardly. Bumped by another runner and impeded near the 650m.

REX CELERITATE (B Davis) – Lay outwards in the early stages, and as a result made contact with another runner near the 900m. The gelding continued to lay outwards in running and again made contact with another runner near the 650m. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

MURPHY (V Arnott) – Bounded at the start.

SENOR JUEZ (J Todd) – Crowded between runners and steadied near the 900m.

Race 6: Palmerston Sprint 1200m

TICKET TO TOORAK (B Davis) - Broke through the front of the gates when the field was being loaded, and after undergoing a veterinary examination was cleared to compete.

SUPER BRYAN (B Huppatz) – Bumped at the start.

ACTION AGAIN (P Shiers) – After being fractious in the barriers and rearing the gelding underwent a veterinary examination and was cleared to compete. Raced wide throughout.  Returned with a laceration to the near hind pastern.

GRACIOUS PROSPECT (J Todd) – Got its head in the air at the start.

LADY PHROMILY (C Spry) – Commenced awkwardly, getting its head in the air and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.

CADMAN (F Bergstrand) – Bumped at the start.

HE'S OUR WOODY (K Cross) – Bumped and crowded between runners at the start. Returned with a small laceration to the off hind pastern.

NICCOCO (R Vigar) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

Race 7: 0 - 66 Handicap 1600m

SO POYSED (J Lyon) – Raced wide on straightening.

FRENCH TUSSON (R Vigar) – When questioned rider advised that leaving the 200m his mount had been reluctant to improve in between runners despite his urgings.

GIRL HAPPY (F Bergstrand) – Lay outwards rounding the home turn.

OUR SWAGMAN (V Arnott) – Raced keenly in the early stages and had to be steadied outwards from heels rounding the 1400m turn. Raced wide for the majority of the event.

Summary

All race winners were swabbed, and a selected number of horses we subjected to pre race testing.

Fines

Race 1 Jockey P Denton was fined $500 under AR137 (b) for failing to ride Ombromani out to the end of the race.

Race 6 Jockey R Oakford was fined $500 for a whip offence
