General - Jockey J Lyon was stood down by the Stewards acting under the terms of AR81A(3) following notification that a urine sample he provided at the Alice Springs Turf Club meeting on the 29th October 2017 was found upon analysis to contain the presence of a banned substance. The Stewards intend to inquire into this matter at a date and time to be fixed.

Race 1: 0-70 HANDICAP

ZOCALOS (S Ridler) – Raced wide from the  600m. Returned with blood in its mouth.

ABLE KEN (F Bergstrand) – Commenced awkwardly. Race wide from the 800m.

FRAYVILLE (K Cross) – A post race veterinary examination revealed gelding to be lame in off fore leg. Trainer S Dodd was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

Race 2: BMNT 74 HANDICAP

ACTION AGAIN (C Spry) – Raced keenly leaving the 1200m until approaching the 800m.

Race 3: CLASS 2 HANDICAP

NERVOUS (C Spry) – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained abrasions to both hind legs.

THE WILD SIDE (F Bergstrand) – Taken outwards on straightening to obtain a clear run.

RED VALAZEEL (W Davies) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

MICKY (K Cross) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide from the 600m.

Race 4: 0-64 HANDICAP

WISEN UP (P Shiers) – Raced wide thoughout.

ALSOADAMAS (C Spry) – Crowded and bumped at the start. Raced wide from the 500m. Cast its near hind plate in running.

DUKE OF YORK (R Vigar) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that his mount was under pressure prior to straightening and failed to finish the race off as anticipated.

SAVATONE (B Huppatz) –– Crowded and bumped at the start.

MIGHTY TAX (F Bergstrand) – Commenced awkwardly and shifted inwards at the start.

PHOENIX ARIZONA (S Ridler) – Bumped between runners at the start. Impeded from heels at the 200m.

DUST ‘N’ DIAMONDS (P Crich) – Shied inwards and away from another runner at start.

MACON COUNTY (V Arnott) – Bounded at the start and veered outwards, bumping with another runner.

General – V Arnott (MACON COUNTY) was cautioned for careless riding after allowing her mount to shift in when not clear near the 200m resulting in PHOENIX ARIZONA (S Ridler) being impeded from heels.

Race 5: 0-58 HANDICAP

SO STOIC (M Hagley) – Commenced awkwardly

BO ZEPHYR (R Vigar) – Raced wide throughout.

SPICY MAC (V Arnott) – Slow into stride.

LILLIE EVANGELENE (P Crich) – Returned with an abrasion to the off hind leg.

SANDHILL EXPRESS (S Ridler) – Over raced leaving the 900m and as a result was steadied and lost ground near the 800m.
