Race 1 - 0-73 HCP - 1200 metres
When the gates opened HIGH PAPA jumped awkwardly and shifted in onto GILBEAU which in turn went in onto RISHIKESH. As a result both GILBEAU and RISHIKESH became unbalanced.
On jumping away OUR LAST RESORT shifted out and bumped PHANTOM VERDE.
W. White rider of OUR LAST RESORT was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR137 (a) ). The careless riding being that shortly after the start he commenced to shift in when not sufficiently clear of HIGH PAPA. As a result he took HIGH PAPA in until it was tightened for room and had to be checked. W. White was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on Friday 4th December (2 meetings).
The Club's Veterinary Surgeon inspected CAN'T CATCH MOUSE and reported that the gelding had suffered a laceration to the near fore coronet during the event.
The Club's Veterinary Surgeon also inspected GILBEAU which performed poorly and reported that it had suffered a cardiac Arrythmia. Ms E Brown was notified that prior to GILBEAU again racing it must perform to the satisfaction of the stewards in a trial over 1000 and be declared free of Cardiac Arrythmia post trial by the club veterinary surgeon and a satisfactory veterinary certificate for GILBEAU must be produced.
P.Shiers rider of PRIVATE DAN was fined $100 for making a celebratory gesture prior to the winning post on that gelding. (AR 137 (c) )
Mr S Brown was charged $20 for using club colors on GILBEAU (NT 121)
1st PRIVATE DAN, 2nd RISHIKESH, 3rd OUR LAST RESORT
Race 2 - THREE YEARS OLD HCP - 1100 metres
On jumping away DOLLAR WISE was tightened for room.
Stewards questioned S.Sheargold rider of NOTIPTHIS as to the reason for him racing wide rounding the turn. S.Sheargold stated that NOTIPHIS did not appreciate the sand coming back and for this reason he shifted out to avoid the sand.
Mr Trengrove trainer of NOTIPTHIS was questioned regarding the horses run. Mr Trengrove expressed his concern at how wide NOTIPTHIS raced around the turn. Stewards notified S.Sheargold rider of NOTIPTHIS that in their view racing so wide on the track was detrimental to his mounts chances of gaining the best possible place in the field and that in future he would be expected to make an effort to save ground where possible.
Mr Trengrove was advised that in the opinion if the stewards S.Sheargold's riding of NOTIPTHIS was detrimental to it's chances in the race.
1st PADDY ME LAD, 2nd MACCAS DREAM, 3rd NOTIPTHIS
Race 3 - MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres
On jumping away BELLS OF PRAISE and CHARLIE BRAVO both jumped awkwardly as a result came together and became unbalanced.
When the gate opened MUST MAKE MAGIC jumped awkwardly and struck the gate, and MORDECAI got it's head up and jumped awkwardly.
During the event MUST MAKE MAGIC lost it's near fore plate.
S.Sheargold rider of CHURCH HISTORY reported that the gelding had pulled up lame in the near foreleg.
Mr K.Lamprecht trainer of CHARLIE BRAVO (2nd emergency) was fined $100 for failing to declare R Oakford as the rider for that gelding prior to the 8.00am scratching time (NT 129 (c)).
Mt Lamprecht had been advised to do so prior to that time.
1st PICK OF THE LOT, 2nd STARS SON, 3rd ROLE MODEL
Race 4 - 0-62 HCP - 1600 metres
KELVINSIDE LAD was slow into stride when the gates opened.
On jumping away RIVERLEA CROWN shifted out onto HONOUR REIGN.
On the first turn near the 1400 metres HEY MO had to be eased when tightened by CASH ON ARRIVAL which had a tendency to lay in away from RIVERLEA CROWN.
Rounding the turn Gold Lotto was held up for a clear run for some distance.
In the straight KELVINSIDE LAD had a tendency to lay in.
Mr C Pollard trainer of KELVINSIDE LAD was fined $50 for failing to declare a rider for that gelding by the prescribed time (NT 129 (c) ).
C.Hadden rider of TARCOOLA JEWEL was reprimanded for using his whip on one occasion more than allowed prior to the 100 metres. AR 137 A (5) (a) (ii).

Post race swab samples were taken from all winners. Stewards will review the films of today's races in relation to the whip rules.
