Race 1 - MAIDEN PLATE - 1300 metres

When the gates opened BELLS OF PRAISE bounded and lost some ground.

Rounding the home turn MASTER WHO and VIKING PRINCESS came together. As a result VIKING PRINCESS was turned inwards and became unbalanced.

Subsequent to this event CLASSY BLEV was observed to have blood in its offside nostril. Accordingly under AR53A(7) CLASSY BLEV will be required to gallop over 1000 metres in the presence of a steward prior to again racing.

1st BELLS OF PRAISE, 2nd CLASSY BLEV, 3rd MOSSGREEN

Race 2 - 0-62 (1) HCP - 1200 metres

The Club's Veterinary Surgeon inspected BELLBOOKANDCANDLE subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding was distressed.

The Club's Veterinary Surgeon inspected AVENTINE and reported that the gelding was lame subsequent to the event.

Mr M Hickmott trainer of AVENTINE was notified that a satisfactory veterinary certificate must be produced prior to the gelding racing again.

1st BELLBOOKANDCANDLE, 2nd AVENTINE, 3rd PICK OF THE LOT

Race 3 - 0-62 (2) HCP - 1200 metres

SPEND THE MONEY jumped awkwardly when the gates opened and shifted in onto VILAKAZI which in turn went in onto CULLEN'S SHADOW.

FULL ON FILOU got its head up on jumping away and lost ground as a consequence.

Rounding the later part of the home turn FULL ON FILOU became unbalanced on a number of occasions when racing tight on the inside of VILAKAZI.

1st CULLENS SHADOW, 2nd SLICK SPIRIT, 3rd SPEND THE MONEY

Race 4 - 0-58 HCP 1000 metres

As C Dean was to be overweight and as there was no suitable replacement rider MAUZIE was withdrawn at 4.07.

SINGING SIREN dwelt when the gates opened and lost ground.

Rounding the first turn SINGING SIREN had a tendency to lay out.

Over the later part of the race STAR'S SON (S Montgomery) rolled in under pressure resulting in TENNESSEE CAT having to ease. Ms Montgomery was advised that in similar circumstances in future she must stop riding and straighten her mounts.

Ms B Carlile rider of LIL MISS GIGGLES dropped her whip near the 150 metres.

1st HEZA COMMANDS, 2nd STIRRUP CUP, 3rd STAR'S SON

Race 5 - 0-73 HCP - 1100 metres

As C Dean was to be overweight and there was no suitable replacement rider SUPASON was withdrawn at 4.30pm

The Club's Veterinary Surgeon reported that BARTER ME was galloped on during the event.

1st GILLBEAU, 2nd ALCARNTSPELL, 3rd NIGGLE

Race 6 - 0-67 HCP - 1600 metres

SEYMOUR SNAKE was slow into stride when the gates opened.

From the 200 to 100 metres SEYMOUR SNAKE was disappointed for a clear run on the inside of ONLY FOR YOU which drifted in. SARLAT which was racing on the inside of SEYMOUR SNAKE had to be eased as a consequence near the 100 metres.

As C Dean was to be overweight stewards permitted B Carlile to replace him as the rider of CHAMPION SPIRIT.

C Dean stated that he is normally able to ride at 55kg however since arriving in Darwin he has had difficulty adjusting to the weather and for this reason he believed he was unable to reduce his weight sufficiently.

Stewards reprimanded C Dean and advised him that if he was to accept rides for which he is found to be overweight in future he would be penalised.

Post race samples were taken from all winners.

Licensed trainer Mr S Clarke was fined the sum of $50 for leading a horse at the track on the morning of 19.2.2010 when not wearing a high visibility vest.
