On jumping away LA DEL was slow away.
Subsequent to the event the Club's Veterinary Surgeon reported that MAHAFFEY ROAD was lame in the near fore and JUSTNOTHINLEICA had a cut in the mouth.
J Manning trainer of MAHAFFEY ROAD was advised a Veterinary certificate must be produced prior to that gelding racing again.
1st MACCAS DREAM, 2nd SING STAR, 3rd PADUWI
Race 2 - WFA HCP - 1100 metres
On turning into the straight OUR LAST RESORT and KAPPA bumped on several occasions.
C Pollard trainer of CHAMPION SPIRIT was fined $20 for the use of the club colours.

Stewards allowed B Davis to replace T Walsh as rider of VIKING PRINCESS as T Walsh was temporarily indisposed.
At the start IN TOP FLIGHT jumped in and hit the barrier and was slow away.
Stewards inquired into an incident at about the 650 metres where C Haddon rider of MY DOCTOR had to take hold when EQUITABLE ridden by S Hillebrand moved in suddenly. Stewards advised S Hillebrand that he needed to take more care and apply more effort to protect riders on his inside in future.
1st ONLY FOR YOU, 2nd FLOPITIDOP, 3rd RUDYARD
Race 4 - CLASS B HCP - 1200 metres
C Haddon rider of HALLI was found guilty of a charge of careless riding. The careless riding being at approx the 600 metres he allowed HALLI to shift in causing B Davis rider of JERSEY JOE interference. C Haddon was suspended from riding in races to expire at midnight on 9/01/10 (1 meeting).
At the 500 metres D Robinson rider of GALLADY had to ease off the heels of DORIS.
After the race the Club's Veterinary Surgeon reported that HALLI had cuts on both hind legs.

Race 5 - 0-67 HCP - 1200 metres
Due to adverse weather conditions the start of race 5 was delayed until 5pm and race 6 was delayed until 5.30pm.
S Brown trainer of GILBEAU was fined $20 for use of the club colours.
Stewards will advise M Boothby trainer of JUST RORY and rider V Arnott that in their opinion racing wide was detrimental to the horses chances and that in future she should endeavour to instruct her riders to ensure her horses are not ridden in a similar manner in the future.
1st PHANTOM VERDE, 2nd SARLAT, 3rd SPEND THE MONEY
Race 6 - 0-73 HCP - 1300 metres
M Hickmott trainer of STAR OFTHE CENTURY was fined $50 for presenting that gelding with incorrect gear AR140A.
A the start CANT CATCH MOUSE jumped out and bumped DEPINSKY and STAR OFTHE CENTURY jumped out and bumped CARNEGAN JESTER.
1st STAR OFTHE CENTUARY, 2nd ROSE MARIE, 3rd HYPOXICATION
Post race samples were taken from all winners.
