Race 1 - SPECIAL CONDITIONS HCP - 1200 metres

S Sheargold rider of AUSTPAK was reprimanded for unnecessary use of the whip on that gelding over the last 100 metres when his mount had no reasonable prospect of improving or losing its position. AR 137A (4) (h). S Sheargold has not been penalised for a breach of the whip rules previously.

Race 2 - Class B HCP - 1300 metres

After being placed in the barriers MORDECAI reared over backwards and became cast. Acting on veterinary advice that MORDECAI was unfit to start. Stewards ordered the withdrawal of MORDECAI at 4.46pm. Stewards ordered all monies wagered on MORDECAI to be refunded and all monies wagered on the event prior to the withdrawal of MORDECAI to be paid as follows:- for the win, face value of the ticket less 5 cents in the dollar. For the place, face value of the ticket less 6 cents in the dollar.

The start was delayed when BELLS OF PRAISE became fractious and it's blinkers and bridle came off. To avoid an unnecessary delay stewards advised the starter to leave the blinkers off the mare.

Shortly after the start DRUM AFFAIR was tightened for room between HYPOXICATION and WESTBRIDGE ROAD both of which shifted.

Rounding the first turn near the 650 metres RIVERLEA CROWN eased off the heels of TUSCAN RUBY on several occasions.

Near the 1100 metres TUSCAN RUBY had to be eased to avoid the heels of BELLS OF PRAISE which shifted in abruptly.

The explanation of Ms M Boothby trainer of RIVERLEA CROWN for the late notification of a rider for that gelding was accepted.

Race 3 - TWILIGHT SERIES HCP - 1300 metres

LEICA CON was slow to begin when the gates opened.

Near the 600 metres LEICA CON which was laying out had to be eased off the heels of VEREKER STREET and lost some ground as a consequence.

An inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed into the manner in which B Huppatz rider of CALL THE COUNT used the whip on that horse.

1st DEPINSKY, 2nd CONFOUNDED, 3rd CALL THE COUNT

Race 4 - PURE BLOOD TOBIS HCP - 1200 metres

When the gates opened LADY GRYPHON'S got it's head up and jumped awkwardly and lost ground as a consequence.

Shortly after the start HOLLYWOOD DREAM bucked. Mr S Clarke trainer of HOLLYWOOD DREAM which had bucked in a race previously was advised that the mare would be suspended from racing for 1 month and then must trail to the satisfaction of the stewards prior to racing.

When HOLLYWOOD DREAM bucked it shifted in abruptly and badly hampered IN TOP FLIGHT.

Ms L Williams trainer of ZORRO'S SHIELD was fined $20 for using club colors on that gelding (NT 121).

Mr K Lamprecht trainer of IN TOP FLIGHT was fined $50 for failing to declare a rider for that mare by the prescribed time. (NT 129 (c))

An inquiry was adjourned to the date to be fixed into the manner in which S Hillebrand rider of BABY DEAN used his whip on that gelding.

1st PICK OF THE LOT, 2nd HANNESBURG, 3rd BABY DEAN

Race 5 - DARWIN AIRPORT RESORT HCP - 1000 metres

On jumping away BEEBEECEE shifted out across the running of NIYAZOV and hampered that gelding.

Near the 700 metres RUDYARD was tightened for room between MISS SECRET and ZABULLION which shifted in. As a result RUDYARD and MISS SECRET bumped and became unbalanced and lost some ground.

Mr S Clarke trainer of SUPREMATOR was questioned as to the reason for that horse being presented on course late. Mr Clarke advised that he had employed staff to ensure his horses arrived in a timely manner but due to communication break down that did not happen. Stewards advised Mr Clarke that it was his responsibility as the trainer to ensure his horses are on course at the appropriate time and if it occurred again he would be penalised.

Post race swab samples were taken from all winners

Stewards question Mr G Aldam registered stable hand who was attending the horses trained by Mr K Lamprecht. Mr Aldam stated that Mr Lamprecht had left to travel to Alice Springs and that he would be saddling Mr Lampecht's horses today. Stewards advised Mr Aldam that Mr Lamprecht had not lodged any authority for any person to supervise his stable in his absence or act on his behalf on race day. Under the circumstances stewards permitted Mr Aldam to saddle Mr Lamprechts horses today.

Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the failure of Mr Lamprecht to lodge the authorities mentioned.

Licensed trainer Mr S Clarke was fined $100 for having a dog in the stable area on the morning of the 20th November which was not restrained as per committees policy.
