Near the 1000 metres CLIFFS was tightened for room and had to be eased when OUR LAST RESORT (B Huppatz) shifted in when not sufficiently clear. B Huppatz was notified that in similar circumstances in future he must ensure he is 2 lengths clear prior to shifting ground.

Race 2 - MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres

Mr G Clarke trainer of SLICK SPIRIT notified the stewards that he intended to instruct the geldings rider to ride it back in the field today. Mr Clarke explained that SLICK SPIRIT has been pushing forward in its races but has not finished off at the end and today he hoped if ridden back midfield it would run on in the straight.

On jumping away SINGNEIL shifted out and bumped PREPARING and then shifted in on to ONLY FOR YOU. As a result ONLY FOR YOU was tightened for room and hampered between SINGNEIL and PENTOOPAPER which shifted out.

In the straight SLICK SPIRIT hung in which prevented Ms V Arnott from riding the gelding out in her normal manner.

Race 3 - 0-62 HCP - 1000 metres

On jumping away KOOLKANNA ROAD shifted in and bumped JAFTICA.

S Hillebrand rider of RISSIK requested to see the official photo finish image prior to correct weight.

Mr C Pollard who did not declare appropriate riders for his runners REQUEST THAT SONG and JAFTICA until 8am today was fined $100 on each count of failing to declare his riders by the appropriate time (NT 129).

Race 4 - 0-58 HCP - 1600 metres

When the gates opened KELVINSIDE LAD and WHAT AN ACT stood flat footed and lost ground.

S Ridler rider of 3rd placed CHARISTEAS requested permission to view the official photo finish image prior to correct weight.
