Race 1 - 0-58 HCP - 1200 metres

Prior to the start S Ridler rider of CYAN who had been struck in the face when CYAN reared in the barriers was examined by the ambulance staff and passed fit to ride.

When the gates opened CYAN jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

On jumping VILAKAZI shifted out and hampered BRAVISSIO which lost considerable ground as a consequence.

Rounding the home turn SKIMMING ALL was held up for a clear run.

Mr M Hickmott trainer of CYAN approached the stewards subsequent to the event to express his concern that CYAN had not been vetted prior to the start after rearing in the barriers.

Subsequent to the event the Club's Veterinary Surgeon reported that CYAN was lame after returning to scale.

Mr R Richards trainer of BRAVISSIO was fined $20 for the use of the Club's colours.

1st VILAKAZI, 2nd SKIMMING ALL, 3rd GENERAL CLAUDIA

Race 2 - 0-58 HCP - 1200 metres

As S Ridler was temporarily indisposed B Huppatz was permitted to replace him as the rider of FRANCAGINO.

On jumping away TARCOOLA JEWEL knuckled.

CHIC OLIVIA bounded when the gates opened and lost ground.

Rounding the turn near the 600 metres GALLADY had a tendency to get it's head up and race ungenerously.

Prior to correct weight S Bailey rider of GALLADY requested permission to view the stewards patrol film.

C Haddon rider of TARCOOLA JEWEL was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR 137(a))

The careless riding being that near the 1100 metres he permitted him mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of GALLADY resulting in GALLADY having to be checked. C Haddon was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on 19th February (1 meeting) and fined the sum of $250.

1st TARCOOLA JEWEL, 2nd GALLADY, 3rd JIMMY JAZZ

Race 3 - 0-67 HCP - 1300 metres

Near the 1000 metres JUST RORY had to be eased to avoid the heels of JORSTON (S Bailey) which shifted in. S Bailey was advised that in future he must ensure he is 2 lengths clear prior to shifting ground.

Subsequent to the event R Oakford rider of JUST RORY requested permission to view the stewards patrol film.

1st JORSTON, 2nd JUST RORY, 3rd SEYMOUR SNAKE

Race 4 - 0-73 HCP - 1200 metres

LEICA CON was slow into stride when the gates opened.

During the event TREGOLO suffered a bleeding attack.

1st LEICA CON, 2nd NIGGLE, 3rd TREGOLO

Race 5 - CLASS B HCP - 1100 metres

NIZAMI was examined by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon prior to the event and passed fit to run.

THE EXCAVATOR bounded as the gates opened and lost ground.

STAR'S SON jumped awkwardly and struck the side of the gates.

Racing along the back straight DORIS which had been ridden hard early had difficulty holding it's position when racing tight on the inside of STIRRUP CUP.

Mr S Brown trainer of SINGING SIREN was fined $50 for presenting that filly with incorrect gear (AR 140A).

C Haddon advised the stewards subsequent to the event that he believed his mount NIZAMI was lame after the race.

Race 6 - SPECIAL CONDITIONS HCP - 1000 metres

1st WRENCHER, 2nd OOMPA, 3rd BARTER ME

Post race samples were taken from all winners.
