When the gates opened GENERAL SNIPPETS knuckled and then was tightened by ROLE MODEL which shifted in.
MORDECAI bounded in the air when the gates opened.
In the straight ROLE MODEL had a tendency to lay in.

ETESIAN jumped awkwardly and lost ground when the gates opened.

SPAKATAK was slow to begin when the gates opened.

Rounding the first turn MR KNOCKABOUT had a tendency to get its head up and race ungenerously.
At the entrance to the straight SEYMOUR SNAKE shifted out slightly to obtain a clear run and in so doing bumped INITIATIVE and unbalanced that gelding.
Near the 200 metres and again approaching the winning post BELONG TO LOIRE shifted out and in so doing bumped MALIBU DOLL and took that mare outwards.

Mr Hickmott trainer of CYAN notified the stewards that he intended today to instruct the rider of CYAN to attempt to ride the gelding in a more forward position today as he believed that the gelding did not appreciate the sand coming back in previous starts when ridden back in the field.
When the gates opened DABBA DO TIME and GALLEON CREST were slow to begin.
On jumping away CHELLASEA shifted out taking BESOFABULEUX outwards.
Near the 200 metres BABY DEAN which was making ground quickly along the fence had to be checked when disappointed for a run on the inside of PADDY ME LAD.
R Oakford rider of BABY DEAN was reprimanded by the stewards for unnecessary use of the whip on that gelding (AR 137A(3)).
