Race 1: 0 -64 Handicap 1100m

GIRLS AWAY (R Oakford) – Raced wide throughout.

DUBLIN LAD (T O’Donnell) – Lay inwards through the early stages.

Race 2: WFA – 1100m

General:Stewards interviewed trainer G Clarke  prior to the race in relation to the instructions he intended to issue bearing in mind that his stable had four runners in the event. All runners were ridden accordingly. 

CELEBRAKTI (C Spry) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.

HAMISH BOY (T O’Donnell) – Bumped at the start.

Race 3: 0 - 58 Handicap 1000m

The start time of this event was delayed 4 minutes due to the incident involving OH SO JAZZY.

OLD TOM (D Pisani) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Shifted outwards under pressure over the final 150m.

PONUGO (C Spry) – Mistrode near the 600m and lay outwards. A post race veterinary revealed the gelding to have sustained an injury to the near fore tendon. Trainer C Spry was advised the he must present a veterinary clearance and the gelding must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.

DILUVIUM (W Davis) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

OH SO JAZZY (M Tyndall) – Whipped around behind the barriers and dislodged it’s rider who took an apparent harmless fall. After cantering some distance the mare was recaptured and after undergoing a veterinary inspection was cleared to compete.

A BURST OF ORANGE (T O’Donnell) – Bounded at the start and got its head in the air for several strides.

Race 4: 0 – 70 Handicap 1300m

ROYALS (T O’Donnell) $26 – was declared a late scratching behind the barriers at 4.20pm when the gelding was found to be lame in the off fore leg. Trainer P Johnston was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for gelding prior to racing again.

Stewards ordered the following deductions to successful bets placed prior to 4.20pm.

TIPSY ON RED  0c win  4c place

AIR STRIKER  3c place

SAKHERO (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 5: Class B Handicap 1300m

HAMMERED ART (R Oakford) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Following the race the gelding sustained  a laceration to the off stifle during  an incident in the place getters stall.

CHICA CALIENTE (D Pisani) – Commenced awkwardly.

LEGAL VEINE (T O’Donnell) – Bumped and unbalanced at the start.


Swab samples were taken from all winners.




Race 1 - Jockey R Oakford (GIRLS AWAY) was reprimanded for using his whip once consecutively prior to the 100m – AR137A(5)(a)(i)
