Race 1 - MAIDEN PLATE - 1600 metres
On jumping away PEACE CORPS shifted out and tightened MORE ESTEEM.
Near the 600 metres VIKING PRINCESS which had a tendency to lay out had to be eased off the heels of PEACE CORPS.
Subsequent to the event BEAUTIFUL HANDOUT was found to be lame in the off fore leg. Mr J Peacock trainer of BEAUTIFUL HANDOUT was notified a satisfactory veterinary certificate must be produced before the gelding races again.
The Clubs Veterinary Surgeon inspected PEACE CORPS which weakened badly and reported that he could find no apparent abnormalities.
P Shiers the rider of PEACE CORPS stated that the gelding was a beaten horse at the 900 metres and he could not offer any explanation for its poor performance.

CHARISTIES was slow into stride when the gates opened.
1st ROCKY BAY, 2nd RED PULSE, 3rd MALIBU DOLL
Race 3 - 0-58 HCP - 1200 metres
On jumping away GRAND LEADER knuckled.
Rounding the turn near the 650 metres GRAND LEADER had difficulty rounding the turn and lost ground.
S Brown trainer of THE PINK PANZER was fined $20 for using the Club's Colours.

Race 4 - 0-62 HCP - 1600 metres
On jumping away SHARP FILOO shifted out onto FILTER.
When the gates opened READ MY LIPS bounded and lost ground and was tightened for room between NIYAZOV and PENTOOPAPER both of which shifted.
THESANDMANCAN jumped the crossing near the 1400 metres.
Near the 650 metres THESANDMANCAN and PENTOOPAPER came together and PENTOOPAPER lost some ground.

Race 5 - 0-70 HCP - 1600 metres
When the gates opened PIONEER PRINCE was slow to begin.
On jumping away HIGH PAPA knuckled.
W Davis rider of LEGAL PURSUIT notified the stewards that the gelding was unable to keep in touch with the field today and was under pressure from early in the race and he believed it was looking for more ground.
Near the 600 metres PIONEER PRINCE which had a tendency to lay out had to be eased off the heels of SNOW BUNNY.
G Lefoe rider of PIONEER PRINCE stated that his saddle slipped to the side during the race which made it difficult for him to control his mount.

Race 6 - OPEN HCP - 1600 metres
On jumping away LANSON jumped outwards onto ACTIVATION.
Shortly after this ACTIVATION look LANSON in slightly onto HACHIMAN which had shifted out.
For several strides LANSON was buffeted by both ACTIVATION and HACHIMAN until LANSON eased and in so doing clipped the heels of ACTIVATION.
When the gates opened TAKOREA was slow to begin.
Near the 1400 metres LOOKOUT shifted out slightly, as a result CARAGA SUNSHINE which was shifting in was tightened for room between LOOKOUT and ACTIVATION. CARAGA SUNSHINE had to be checked and in so doing got onto the hindquarters of ACTIVATION and turned that gelding slightly. ACTIVATION which was racing tight on the inside of UTILITY was hampered as a consequence.
Whilst no one rider was held responsible all were notified that in the future they must ensure they give other riders sufficient room to allow for unexpected shifts and in doing so interference.
Near the 1400 metres PARTY CRASHER had to be eased to avoid the heels of NOZI which shifted in.
1st HE'S HERE, 2nd UTILITY, 3rd LOOKOUT
Race 7 - SPECIAL CONDITIONS HCP - 1000 metres
TITAN RULER was slow to begin when the gates opened.
Rounding the turn at the 600 metres BARTER ME shifted out abruptly and as a result GALLIUM which was racing on its outside was badly hampered. HIGHTOU which was following was also hampered and lost ground.
Shortly after this BARTER ME shifted back to the rail and as a result MR MECURIAL was hampered.
S Sheargold rider of BARTER ME had difficulty controlling his mount as the saddle had shifted quite badly and he was doing his upmost not to be dislodged.

Pre race samples were taken from Activation, He's Here, Nozi, Lanson, Party Crasher, Protesta, Sunshine Resource, Caraga Sunshine, Utility, Lookout, Hachiman, Taikorea.
