Race 1 - MAIDEN - 1200 metres
As FLOPITIDOP (1st Emergency) was not included in the field T Walsh who had been declared as its rider was permitted to ride DAISY GRACE.
On jumping away OUR DARBY ROSE and CYAN came together and OUR DARBY ROSE became unbalanced and lost some ground.
Near the 600 metres MORE ALLOWANCE which was improving was held up for a short distance.
1st CYAN, 2nd STARS SON, 3rd ROLE MODEL
Race 2 - 0-73 HCP - 1600 metres
WESTBRIDGE ROAD was slow to begin when the gates opened.
Stewards questioned J Cameron rider of ONLY FEATHERS regarding that geldings poor performance. J Cameron stated that she elected to ease back rather than to go forward and when the gelding got tight in behind other runners it appeared to resent racing tight and was reluctant to race. Further that rather than performing poorly due to injury she believed that it was the pattern of racing which resulted in its poor performance.
The Club's Veterinary Surgeon inspected ONLY FEATHERS subsequent to the event and reported that she could find no apparent abnormalities.
1st PORT PEGASUS, 2nd LACRYMA STAR, 3rd HE'S SO SWEET
Race 3 - 0-62 HCP - 1300 metres
On arrival at the barriers ZORRO'S SHIELD which had been kicked in the near hind leg by another runner was examined by the Club's Veterinary Surgeon and passed fit to run.
Over the concluding stages RISHIKESH rolled in under pressure taking LOST IN THE STARS inwards.
When the gates opened THE PINK PANZER was slow into stride.
J Cameron rider of WHYREEMA was reminded of her responsibilities under AR 137A(5) in that she must not use her whip in consecutive strides as per the rule.
1st WYREEMA, 2nd RISHIKESH, 3rd LOST IN THE STARS
Race 4 - 0-58 HCP - 1000 metres
R Oakford advised the stewards that he would not be able to ride at the declared weight of GALLEON CREST in this race. R Oakford explained that he accepted the ride as the trainer Mr Rattley advised him there were no other riders available.
As S Hillebrand was now available due to the scratching of his mount ATOMIC CHILLI stewards permitted him to replace R Oakford as the rider of GALLEON CREST.
When the gates opened BALLY TURF KING jumped away awkwardly and lost ground.
On the turn near the 650 metres ARDILES began to hang out and as a result had to be eased off the heels of RUFFS.
Near the 600 metres JIMMY JAZZ failed to negotiate the turn and shifted out. SOVIET MISSILE which was racing on its outside was taken out onto HYPERNATE . As a result HYPENATE became unbalanced and SOVIET MISSILE had to be checked and lost considerable ground.

Race 5 - SPECIAL CONDITIONS HCP - 1200 metres
SPAKATAK was slow to begin when the gates opened.
C Spry rider of LEGAL PUSUIT stated that his mount hung out rounding the turn.
1st WRENCHER, 2nd CLASSIC EDGE, 3rd AUSTPAK
Post race samples were taken from all winners.
