Race 1 - MAIDEN - 1200 metres:

When the gates opened DAISY GRACE bounded.

Shortly after the start SMALLNOCH shifted out and MASTER WHO shifted in.  As a result MCKECHNIE was taken in and hampered, DAISY GACE was tightened from both sides and severely hampered.

Rounding the turn SMALLNOCH hung out badly.  Mr C Pollard trainer of SMALLNOCH was notified that if the gelding was to perform again in a similar manner a warning would be issued. 

Near the 600 metres DAISY GRACE was tightened slightly by MASTER WHO ( B Davis) and had to be eased.  B Davis stated that his mount was laying in and he was doing his upmost to stay out knowing that he had another runner on his inside. 

Stewards accepted B Davis's evidence however advised him that he must stop riding forward in similar circumstances in future and make a greater effort to straighten his mounts.    

Subsequent to the event SMALLNOCH was lame in the off foreleg.  Mr C Pollard trainer of SMALLNOCH was notified that a satisfactory veterinary certificate must be produced prior to that gelding racing again. 

Mr C Pollard trainer of DAISY GRACE was fined $20 for use of the Club's colours (NT 121).  

Mr C Pollard trainer of MASTER WHO was fined the sum of $100 for the late notification of a rider for that gelding (NT129)

1st MISS ENDEAVOUR 2nd MONDELLO 3rd MCKECHNIE

Race 2 – 0 - 62 HCP - 1200 metres:

INVISIBLE CITY bounded as the gates opened and lost ground as a consequence.

Mr R Richard trainer of BRAVISSIO was fined $50 for presenting that gelding with incorrect gear,(AR 140(A)).

Mr C Pollard trainer of PANIS ANGELICUS was fined $20 for use of the Club's colours on that gelding (NT121)

Mr C Pollard trainer of INVISIBLE CITY and PANIS ANGELECUS was reprimanded for failing to have the transfers of ownership completed for those horses prior to acceptances.

Race 3 – TROBIS 3YO CLASS 3 HCP - 1100 metres:

Mr S Clarke trainer of JERRYKOOLER was reprimanded for failing to lodge a stable return showing the correct owners for that gelding.

Race 4 – OPEN HCP - 1100 metres:

On jumping away WYREEMA shifted out and tightened ABSOLUTE TRUTH. 

When the gates opened MADURO jumped awkwardly and struck the inside gate losing considerable ground as a consequence.

Rounding the turn GALLIUM had a tendency to lay out.

Race 5 – 0 - 67 HCP - 1300 metres:

As the gates opened ROCKY BAY bounded and lost ground.

Mr S Brown trainer of ROCKY BAY was fined $50 for presenting that gelding with incorrect gear (AR 140(A)).

1st BELONG TO LOIRE 2nd PHANTOM VERDE 3rd PATERNITY

Mrs E Brown licensed stable foreman was interviewed regarding her dog being in the stable area unrestrained on the morning of 15 May.  Mrs Brown was reminded of the Committees policy and notified that if the dog was not restrained in breach of the Committees policy she would be liable to be penalised. 

Stewards completed an inquiry into the manner in which S Bailey rider of GILBEAU used his whip on that gelding in the Open Handicap at Fannie Bay on Friday 7th May. 

S Bailey rider of GILBEAU was found guilty of a charge under AR 137A(5)(a)(i)(ii).  The details being that prior to the 100 metres he used his whip on 2 occasions in consecutive strides and on 7 occasions in the forehand manner.  Stewards ordered S Bailey forfeit his riding fee.
