Race 1 Territory Pest Control 2YO Sprint 1100 metres

The start of this race was delayed several minutes due to the loading manners of a number of runners.

RAZOR TIME (T Gillett) – Carried outwards from the 600m and was eventually restrained from heels at the 400m.

CASINO JAKE (G Watson) – Raced wide rounding the home turn and into the straight.

DEE ENNAY (C Haddon) – Inclined to lay outwards rounding the home turn.

LEGENDMAN (J Cameron) – Commenced awkwardly and bump.

RAZOR BURN (W Kerford) – Commenced to hang outwards considerably from the 600m and as a result failed to race competitively from thereon. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer T Gillett was advised that the filly must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.

AHECKSTAR (D Pisani) – Bumped at the start.

DESERT LASHES (F Bergstrand) – Bumped at the start. Returned with blood in its mouth.


Race 2: Captain Morgan Handicap 1100 metres

MY COLLEAGUE (F Bergstrand) – Bumped at the start.

REMEMBER RAZOR (W Kerford) – Raced wide on straightening.

KAAPSTROEM (J Cameron) - Raced wide on straightening.

BLAME IT ON RIO (K Gladwin) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.


Race 3: NTSA Sprint 1000 metres

MR GOOD LOOKING (W Kerford) – Raced wide throughout.

BONSAI BOY (F Bergstrand) – Crowded for room and eased near the 900m.

EMPRESS O’REILLY (P Denton) – Bumped at the start.

WEEKENDINALICE (G Watson) – Tightened for room, checked and blundered near the 800m.

GOLD ZAC (D Pisani) – Bounded at the start and knuckled. Raced wide rounding the home turn and into the straight.

BOROUGHS (T Gillett) – Shifted out slightly near the 600m.

ESTAMBUL THIRTEEN (B Huppatz) – Commenced awkwardly.

FERRIS (K Gladwin) – Carried inwards near the 800m.

General: On inquiry jockey T Gillett (BOROUGHS) was cautioned for allowing his mount to shift inwards near the 900m resulting in BONSAI BOY (F Bergstrand) being crowded for room and eased by its rider.

Stewards inquired into the reason for WEEKENDINALICE (G Watson) receiving interference near the 800m. It was established that approaching this point WEEKENDINALICE was tightened for room, checked and blundered from heels when racing between BOROUGHS which shifted out marginally and FERRIS (K Gladwin) which was carried inwards by EXCELLENT ROSE (C Haddon). On the evidence Stewards were satisfied that the shifts of EXCELLENT ROSE and BOROUGHS had both contributed to this incident but jockey

C Haddon was reprimanded for careless riding under AR137(a) for shifting ground and placing pressure on FERRIS.


Race 4: First National Framptons Maiden Plate 1400 metres

CHOICE APPROACH (F Bergstrand) – Was declared a late scratching on veterinary advice at 1.53pm when the gelding was found to have sustained lacerations and abrasions to its head. No betting deductions were applicable.

ANOTHER MANS LOSS (G Watson) – Commenced awkwardly and knuckled at the start.

BARKLEY (P Denton) Restrained from the heels of a tiring runner near the 350m.

DE COSTA D’ORO (C Haddon) – Bumped at the start.

SIMON THE LIKEABLE (K Gladwin) – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.

BELLA GIULIETTA (W Kerford) – Stood flat footed at the start and lost several lengths. Lay inwards in the straight.

CHARLIE BELLE (M Tyndall) - Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.


Race 5: Cleanaway Handicap 1400 metres

STATUE OF WARRIORS (F Bergstand) – Bumped at the 800m.

LADY PHROMILY (K Gladwin) – Raced wide rounding the home turn and in the straight.

RHYTHM OF CUBA (B Huppatz) – Fractious in the barriers prior to the start.

DANGER MOUSE (P Denton) – Returned having bled from the off side nostril. Trainer L Lefoe was advised the mare must gallop satisfactorily before the Stewards prior to racing again in accordance with AR53.

WORTHINGTON (J Cameron) – Bumped at the 800m.

BACKSTOP (S Ridler) – Raced wide rounding the home turn and in the straight.


Race 6: SUN969 Handicap 1900 metres

MONTALTO (F Bergstrand) – Bumped at the start.

TESTATE (B Huppatz) – Raced keenly passing the 1400m.

PRETTY BLONDE (M Tyndall) – Angled outwards from heels near the 100m and shifted out under pressure from thereon.

THE NIGHT SKY (W Kerford) – Bumped at the start.

IDATRICE (G Watson) – Raced wide throughout.


Race 7: McDonald’s Alice Springs WFA 1200 metres

ACTION AGAIN (C Haddon) – Following the unplaced performance a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

KING’S PARDON (K Gladwin) – Slow to begin.

MR PORTER (M Tyndall) – Commenced awkwardly unbalancing its rider.

SIRBIBLE (F Bergstrand) – Shifted out under pressure over the final 100m

SWIFT SHADOW (P Denton) – Raced wide throughout.


Race 8: SDA Plumbing Handicap 1200 metres

ARTIE’S ANGEL (B Davis) – Dipped at the start.

JUST TOO HARD (J Cameron) – Slow into stride.

REDOUTE’S CHOICE (M Tyndall) – Mistrode from heels near the 100m.
