The Club’s Veterinary Surgeon reported CLIFFS was lame in the near fore. Trainer C Pollard was notified a veterinary certificate must be produced in respect of that gelding prior to it again racing.

Rounding the first turn BLUEGRASS got its head up and raced ungenerously.
Mr S Clarke trainer of GALLEON CREST notified the stewards that he believed GALLEON CREST was denied a fair start because it had started from Barrier 5 when in fact it should have been Barrier 3.
Stewards having viewed the video of the race deemed that GALLEON CREST chances in the race were not materially prejudiced by it starting from the incorrect barrier and declared correct weight.
Stewards questioned Mr J O’Neil starter as to why BLUEGRASS and GALLEON CREST started from the wrong gates.
Mr O’Neil stated that on his starting sheets Ms V Arnott was down to ride both horses and when he corrected his sheet to show P Crich as a replacement for V Arnott he changed the wrong horse. Stewards accepted the explanation of the started Mr O’Neil.

On route to the start M s V Arnott rider of OLD SOLDIER was dislodged.
On jumping away OLD SOLDIER was tightened for room between PERFORMANCE and MUGGADI.
