Race 1 - 2 YO CLASS 2 PLATE - 1100 metres:

MURPHY'S BLUBUBBLE was kicked at the start by another runner, the Club's Veterinary surgeon reported that gelding was unfit to start.  Acting on this advice Stewards ordered the withdrawal of MURPHY'S BLUBUBBLE at 1.54pm.  Stewards ordered all monies wagered on MURPHY'S BLUBUBBLEto be refunded and all monies wagered on the event prior to the withdrawal of MURPHEY'S BLUBUBBLE to be paid as follows:- for the win, face value of the ticket less 2 cents in the dollar. For the place, face value of the ticket less 3 cents in the dollar.

PRECIEUX dwelt when the gates opened.

The rider of fourth placegetter INDISPUTABLY lodged an objection against RIGHT REACTION being declared the third placegetter alleging interference near the 600 metres.

After taking evidence from the parties concerned and viewing the patrol films stewards upheld the objection and amended the placings to:

            INDISPUTABLY       3rd

            RIGHT REACTION  4th

Stewards found Mr S Montgomerie guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR 137(b)).  The careless riding being that approaching the 600 metres she permitted her mount RIGHT REACTION to shift out when not sufficiently clear of INDISPUTABLY, thereby taking that hose out onto CAREFULL AFFAIR.

As a result INDISPUTABLY was inconvenienced and dipped and CAREFUL AFFAIR had to be checked severely.

Ms Montgomerie was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on Saturday 24th July (1 meeting).

As a consequence of CAREFULL AFFAIR being taken outwards in this interference, POWERFUL PEGASUS and DISC JOCKEY were taken wide on the track.

Mrs L Williams trainer of CAREFULL AFFAIR advised the stewards that the filly had suffered lacerations to the near fore during the event.

The Club's Veterinary Surgeon inspected INDISPUTABLY subsequent to the event and reported that it had suffered a laceration to the off foreleg.
