Race 1 – 3-Y-O CLASS 4 HCP - 1100 metres:

On jumping away NOBLE EARL shifted in onto LET’S FACE IT and then got its head up and raced ungenerously for a number of strides resulting in it losing some ground.

YOSHI JUNIOR jumped outwards at the start taking ANOTHER SHOUT out onto the headquarters of SAVANNAH IRON. As a consequence ANOTHER SHOUT and SAVANNAH IRON became unbalanced for several strides.

Rounding the turn NOBLE EARL raced wide without cover.

Ms V Arnott rider of ICED MAGIC was found guilty of a charge under AR137A(3) excessive use of the whip. The details being that she used her whip excessively on that filly, in particular from the 100 metres when the filly had headed the eventual second placegetter she continued to use her whip in all but a few strides to the winning post.

Stewards ordered under AR196(2) that Ms Arnott forfeit her riding fee in respect of this race.

B Huppatz rider of ANOHER SHOUT was found guilty of a charge under AR137A(3) of excessive use of the whip.  The details being he used his whip on that gelding excessively when in the stewards opinion it had little if any prospect of improving its position from the 200 metres onwards. B Huppatz was reprimanded.

B Huppatz was also found guilty of a charge under AR137A(5)(a)(i).  The details being that when he rode ANOTHER SHOUT in the above race that he used his whip in the forehand manner in four (4) consecutive strides prior to the 100 metres.

Stewards ordered under AR196(2) that B Huppatz forfeit his riding fee in respect of this race.

Race 2 – 0-58 HCP - 1200 metres:

Ms S Montgomerie advised the Steward’s that she was unable to ride in this event at her MRW of 55kg.  Ms Montgomerie stated that she had done her best to get down to her MRW but due to the hot conditions she was unable to do so without causing undue stress. Stewards accepted Ms Montgomerie's explanation and as there were no replacement riders granted permission for her to fulfil her engagement on GIVE ‘N’ GO.

EXPLOSIVE KISS and GIVE ‘N’ GO were slow to begin when the gates opened. EXPLOSIVE KISS bumped STIRRUP CUP shortly after the start and knuckled.

Ms J Robinson trainer of GIVE ‘N’ GO was fined $20 for use of the Club's colours on that gelding (NT 121).

The Club's Veterinary Surgeon reported that MAJOR NELSON was suffering from heat stress subsequent to the event.

Race 3 – 0 – 64 - 1600 metres:

In the early stages of the race THE CAT got its head up and raced ungenerously when being restrained.

Ms C Angel rider of CAN'T AGREE was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip on that gelding (AR137A(3)).  Stewards took into account Ms Angel did not use her whip in consecutive strides however used it in that fashion for the majority of the straight.

Race 4 – BENCHMARK 72 HCP - 1300 metres:

Race 5 – 0-70 HCP - 1000 metres:

Near the 650 metres  ETHBAAL was tightened for room between THUMB PRINTS and SUPSON, both which shifted slightly.

BY JEEVES was slow to muster speed in the early stages.

COLONEL JACK had a tendency to lay in in the straight which placed its rider Ms Angel at a disadvantage in riding her mount out to the line.
