Race 1 – 0 – 58 - 1300 metres:
S Hillebrand rider of EKRUM was found guilty of a charge of improper riding (AR137(a)).
The details being that after passing the 100 metres he swang his whip towards BROMLEY which was racing on his out side, in such a manner that his forearm was extended past his elbow which was a different action to that used by him either prior to or after the incident.
S Hillebrand was fined the sum of $500.

Race 2 – 0 - 64 HCP - 1200 metres:
On jumping away HER PIC shifted out and tightened QUANTUM FIRE, shortly after this SEVEN BRIDGES shifted out tightening HER PIC onto QUATUM FIRE.
Subsequent to the event the Club’sVeterinary Surgeoninspected SEVEN BRIDGES which performed below expectations and reported that he could find no apparent abnormality.

Race 3 – CLASS B HCP - 1000 metres:
On jumping away ICED MAGIC shifted in abruptly bumping SAVANAH IRON and taking that gelding in onto BISKEY LIPS.
Rounding the first turn near the 600 metres WELCOME RETURN was tightened for room between LADY JINX and HAPPY MAN (B Huppatz) which rolled out. B Huppatz stated that HAPPY MAN began to hang out approaching the turn and continued to lay out until entering the straight.
B Huppatz stated that he did his up most to keep a straight course as he was unaware there was runners on his outside.
Mr G Clarke trainer of GREEN MANGO was fined the sum of $100 for presenting that mare with incorrect gear (AR140).
1st HOLDING THE FORT 2nd SEVEN DRAGONS 3rd BISKEY LIPS
Race 4 – BMNT HCP – 1200 metres:
On arriving at the barriers the Club’sVeterinary Surgeoninspected PILOS and reported that the gelding was lame in the near foreleg. Acting on this advice stewards ordered the withdrawal of PILOS at 5:40pm. Subsequent to the event stewards ordered all monies wagered on PILOS to be refunded and all monies wagered on the event prior to the withdrawal of PILOSto be paid as follows:-

Mr D Jupp representing Mr R Richards’s trainer of PILOS was advised that prior to that gelding racing again the stewards would require a satisfactory veterinary certificate.
The Club’sVeterinary Surgeoninspected ALCARNTSPELL which performed poorly and reported that the gelding was lame in the off foreleg.
Mr L Paech trainer of ALCARNTSPELL was advised that a satisfactory veterinary certificate must be produced prior to that gelding racing again.
During the event COURTING MAGIC lost its rear hind plate.
1st REFLEX 2nd ROGUE WARRIOR 3rd COURTING
Race 5 – 0 - 70 HCP – 1600 metres:
Near the 1400 metres OLD GUARD had to be checked of the heels of MANNING (B Huppatz) which had shifted in. R Oakford rider of OLD GUARD stated that his mount improved up onto the heels of MANNING when that gelding had almost crossed. B Huppatz stated that he believed he was clear when shifting in however his mount eased up at the same time.
Steward s reprimanded B Huppatz and advised him that in the future he must ensure he is two lengths clear when shifting grounds.
Mr S Brown trainer of KINGSFORD was fined the sum of $100 for presenting that gelding with the incorrect gear (AR140)
