Race 1 - MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres:
CITY OF BRIGHTNESS became fractious in the tie up stalls and struck it's head and suffered several minor lacerations. As the gelding was unfit to start Stewards ordered it's withdrawal at 2.40pm.
Prior to correct weight being declared S Hillebrand rider of VENUE requested to view the photo finish.
PADUWI jumped awkwardly and lost ground as a consequence.
Rounding the turn from the 600 metres to the 500 metres SINGING SIREN was held up for a clear run initially due to HARBINGERS (V Arnott) rolling out then VENUE on it's inside which was tightened for room rolling out slightly.
V Arnott was notified that in future she must ensure she is 2 lengths clear prior to shifting ground.
Near the 200 metres MEASURE UP rolled out and bumped VENUE.
Stewards questioned Ms V Arnott rider of HARBINGERS regarding her failure to shift in and take a sit behind the leader racing down the back straight which resulted in her being far wide rounding the turn without cover.

Race 2 – 0 - 76 HCP - 1200 metres:
GENERAL MAZERATTI dwelt when the gates opened.
Ms S Montgomerie rider of KOOLKANNA ROAD was reprimanded for unnecessary use of the whip on that gelding which was out of contention and showing no response AR 137 A(3).
GENERAL MAZERATTI had blood in it's near side nostril on return to scale.

Race 3 – WEIGHT FOR AGE HCP - 1100 metres:
MARCO LAGO got it's head up on jumping away and lost ground.
MAJESTIC LION which was slow into stride was bumped by BLACKSTONE ROSE which shifted in.
Racing down the back straight MARCO LARGO got it's head up and raced ungenerously.
Rounding the turn MARCO LARGO had a tendency to lay out.

Race 4 – 0 - 63 HCP - 1300 metres:
On jumping away STIRRUP CUP shifted in and bumped BESOFABULEUX.
In the straight COLONEL JACK had a tendency to lay in which prevented the rider B Davis from riding the gelding out in his normal manner.

Race 5 – 0 - 58 HCP - 1600 metres:
Near the 650 metres HARKTHEHERALDANGEL was tightened for room by DORSETT which rolled in away from MONTE ROCKET.

Stewards concluded an inquiry adjourned from Saturday 11th December.
Evidence was taken from S Hillebrand rider of HE'S SO SWEET and Ms C Angel rider of MELODY STREET. It was established that approaching the turn at the 1200 metres MELODY STREET which was over racing, pulled it's way up into a tight run between HE'S SO SWEET and FLYING FACE. As the field rounded the turn towards the 1100 metres MELODY STREET was tightened by HE'S SO SWEET and as a result was taken in and had to be check off the heels of FLYING FACE.
Stewards reprimanded S Hillebrand for forcing MELODY STREET in across the heels of FLYING FACE. S Hillebrand was further advised that whilst MELODY STREET had taken a tight run he was not then entitled to shift in and close the run when only 3/4 lengths in front.
