Race 1 - WELTER - 1900 metres
Near the 600 metres TAIKOREA was tightened for room between HACHIMAN and MARCO LAGO which rolled off the fence.
Rounding the first turn HACHIMAN got it's head up and raced ungenerously.

On jumping away SHOUT OUT LOUD shifted out and bumped LET GO JOHNNY.
1st CAPE CLINTON, 2ns SHOUT OUT LOUD, 3rd BELONG TO LOIRE
Race 3 - 0-76 HCP - 1000 metres
On jumping away HAPPY JACKS shifted out and tightened GOLD PALM out onto LORD OF LAURISTON.

Race 4 - 0-62 HCP - 1000 metres
A WEE DRAM was slow into stride when the gates opened.
The Clubs Veterinary Surgeon inspected KOOLKANA ROAD subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding lame in the off fore. Mr C Pollard trainer of KOOLKANNA ROAD was notified that a satisfactory veterinary certificate must be produced before the gelding races again.
Colin Haddin rider of CULLENS SHADOW was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under (AR 137A1(a)).
The careless riding being that near the 900 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of DORSET thereby taking that gelding in onto SOVIET MISSLE and it in turn in onto A WEE DRAM.
As a result DORSETT had to be checked and SOVIET MISSLE and A WEE DRAM were hampered.
Colin Haddin was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence at midnight 3rd of August and to expire at midnight on Friday 7th of August.
In considering penalty stewards took into account that Colin Haddin had been declared for rides on Monday 3rd of August and had been booked for rides in Broome on Wednesday 5th and Saturday 8th of August.
Mr C Pollard trainer of DORSETT was fined $20 for using the club colours.
Ms Jan Cameron rider of CHARALTAN PRINCE was found guilty of a charge under AR 137A(3) with excessive use of the whip on that gelding.
Stewards ordered under AR196 that Jan Cameron forfeit her riding fee and riding percentage.

Race 5 - 0-58 HCP - 1300 metres
When the gates opened ABRUTZO was slow to start.
Shortly after the start DASHERWAY and ABRUTZO were tightened for room between SIMMCONIA and BALLY TURF KING both of which shifted ground.
Near the 600 metres ABRUTZO had a tendency to lay out and in so doing shifted out and bumped SIMMCONIA.
Brendon Davis rider of HANNYS BOY used in this race a non padded whip as prescribed under AR137(1)(a).
Stewards ordered under AR196 that Brendon Davis rider of HANNYS BOY forfeit his riding fee for breaching AR137A(1)(a).

Race 6 - OPEN HCP - 1200 metres
Near the 1100 metres KAPPA rolled in resulting in GALLIUM having to be eased. AUSTPAK which was racing on the inside of GALLIUM was also hampered and made contact with KIRIKIRISH, hampering both runners.
Garry Lefoe rider of PERIDUKI was found guilty of a charge of careless riding AR137(a). The careless riding being that at the top of the straight he permitted his mount to shift out when not sufficiently clear of TAOS PLEASURE resulting in TAOS PLEASURE having to be checked.
Garry Lefoe was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on Saturday 8th of August (2 meetings).
1st FAR HORIZONS, 2nd CROSSWIRE, 3rd TWO SONS
Race 7 - 0-66 HCP - 1300 metres
When the gates opened ACADEMY MAGIC was slow to begin.
Near the 600 metres David Bates rider of ROSE MARIE was dislodged.
The stewards adjourned at inquiry into the incident.
S Scriven rider of ACADEMY MAGIC was found guilty of a charge under AR 137A(3) with excessive use of the whip on that gelding.
Stewards ordered under AR196 that S Scriven forfeit his riding fee.
