Race 1: 0 - 58 Handicap 1100m

BAUMKUCHEN (V Arnott) – Slow into stride.

BLACK BURBERRY (S Ridler) – Lay inwards in the straight.

DUST ‘N’ DIAMONDS (M Tydnall) – Prior to correct weight, Stewards considered an application from jockey M Tyndall to have her mount was denied a fair start. It was established that the mare was fractious in the barriers and when the start was effected had its head turned to the side and consequently commenced awkwardly losing ground. Stewards were satisfied that the mare had not been denied a fair start and correct weight was declared.

NERVOUS (C Spry) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance the rider reported the gelding felt amiss in its action.  A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.  Trainer/jockey Mr C Spry advised that the gelding would now be retired.

SILVER SEBRING (B Davis) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 2: BMNT 69 Handicap 1300m

General: Prior to the race Stewards interviewed trainer Mr P Cole in relation to the riding instructions he intended to give each jockey bearing in mind his stable had 3 runners in the event.  All runners were ridden accordingly.

SAKHERO (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout,

RUSSIAN ROCKER (K Cross) – Commenced awkwardly.  Rider reported her leg was pulled back by the barrier blanket on jumping.

Race 3: 0 - 70 Handicap 1300m

AIR STRIKER (C Spry) – Commenced awkwardly.

TODABAR (M Tyndall) – Raced wide throughout.

MCKENNA (S Ridler) – Raced in restricted room for some distance approaching the first turn.

Race 4: TROBIS 3&4 YO BMNT 56 Handicap 1300m

BOMBER BROWN (R Oakford) – Slow into stride.

STATUE OF WARRIORS (F Bergstrand) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

GOLD ZAC (R Rhodes) – Raced wide throughout.

BELLA GIULIETTA (B Huppatz) – Bumped heavily at the start. Crowded for room and steadied near the 700m.

General: Stewards inquired into the reason for BELLA GIULIETTA (B Huppatz) being crowded and steadied approaching the first turn. It was established that near the 700m the mare had improved to the inside of ANOTHER MAN’S GAIN (S Ridler) but had been reluctant to hold that position. ANOTHER MAN’S GAIN then shifted in slightly resulting in BELLA GIULIETTA being crowded and restrained by its rider. On the evidence presented, Stewards cautioned jockey S Ridler and advised him to ensure that runner’s to his inside are afforded sufficient room in future.

Race 5: 0 - 64 Handicap 1600m

THE KUNUNURRA KID (V Arnott) – Raced wide throughout.

FRENCH TUSSON (F Bergstrand) – Raced wide through out.

EVENING LADIES (W Davis) – Bumped at the start.

ZIGGLER (M Tyndall) – Commenced awkwardly. Trainer/jockey Mr C Spry advised that the gelding will not continue its current preparation in his stable.

ROYALS (B Huppatz) – Bumped at the start.

Swab samples were taken from all winners. Pre race samples were taken from EVENING LADIES, ZIGGLER, THE KUNUNURRA KID, CANON DIABLO, TODABAR, FINKE and ANOTHER MAN’S GAIN.
