Race 1 - MAIDEN PLATE - 1300 metres:
Mr S Brown trainer of IRON HAWK was fined $50 for presenting that gelding with incorrect gear (AR 140A).
On return to scale S Hillebrand rider of first placegetter VENUE was found to be 1kg under his declared weight.
It was established that S Hillebrand had weighed with a lead bag which was not present on weighing in and that the trainer of VENUE, Mr S Brown had neglected to place the lead bag on VENUE when saddling up.
The omission of the lead bag resulted in S Hillebrand failing to make the declared weight. Acting under AR 143 (a) stewards disqualified VENUE from the event and declared the placing as follows;

Mr Brown was found guilty of a charge under AR 143(b) the details being that when he saddled VENUE he neglected to place the said lead bag on the horse resulting in the rider S Hillebrand being underweight on return to scale.
Mr Brown was fined the sum of $750.

The Club's Veterinary Surgeon inspected DEPINSKY which performed below expectations and reported he could find no apparent abnormalities.

Race 3 – 0 - 63 HCP - 1100 metres:
MISS ENDEAVOUR got its head up on jumping away and lost ground as a consequence.
1st HIDDEN SURPRISE 2nd TENNYSON 3rd SIGNED AND SEALED
Race 4 – 0 - 58 HCP - 1600 metres:
CHRONOGRAPH stood flat footed when the gates opened and lost considerable ground as a consequence. On jumping away MONTE ROCKET which got it's head up rolled in and hampered NOTIPTHIS.
Approaching the first turn MONTE ROCKET (A Brown) shifted out and in so doing tightened PANIS ANGELICUS onto HE'S SO SWEET. Ms A Brown was advised that in future she must ensure she is 2 lengths clear prior to shifting ground.
Rounding the home turn AVIDSON was disappointed for a run between HE'S SO SWEET and MONTE ROCKET (A Brown) which rolled out.
Approaching the winning post PANIS ANGELICUS rolled in slightly, as a result NOTIPTHIS which was attempting to take a run on the inside was disappointed.
