Race 1 - CLASS B - 1300 metres:
DAISY GRACE bounded as the gates opened and HEMMI HUSSY jumped away awkwardly.
Stewards questioned P Crich rider of TUIVERRE as to the reason for him racing so wide rounding the turn. P Crich stated that TUIVERRE began to hang out immediately after the start and for this reason he was unable to get in any closer.
Stewards advised Mr J Peacock trainer of TUIVERRE that a warning would be issued against the gelding and any repetition may lead to further action being taken.
Mr C Pollard trainer of DAISY GRACE was questioned regarding that mares poor performance today. Mr Pollard stated that he could offer no explanation other than DAISY GRACE may need a spell. Mr Pollard indicated that the mares training regime had not altered since its last start and that it appeared to have pulled up alright after the race. Mr Pollard further stated that its previous win was not expected by the stable.
The Clubs Veterinary Surgeon inspected DAISY GRACE which performed poorly and reported they could find no apparent abnormalities.
The Clubs Veterinary Surgeon reported that SORRISO was lame in the near fore.
Mr C Pollard trainer of HEMMI HUSSY was fined $50 under AR 140A for presenting that mare with incorrect gear
During the event BABY DEAN suffered a bleeding attack.

Race 2 – 0 - 58 HCP - 1600 metres:
McKECHNIE knuckled on jumping away.
Prior to correct weight being declared C Haddon rider of SMOKIN DUST requested to view the stewards patrol film.
Over the concluding stages SMOKIN DUST rolled in slightly and then SONO PICCOLO which was racing on its inside rolled out marginally. As a result C Haddon rider of SMOKIN DUST had to come out to maintain a clear run.
Throughout the event VIGGO raced wide.
McKECHNIE lost it's off fore plate during the event.

Race 3 – 3 YO CLASS 3 HCP - 1100 metres:
Ms S Montgomerie advised the stewards that she would be unable to ride at her declared MRW of 52Kg's.
Stewards fined S Montgomerie $100 (NT 91 (c)) for failing to ride at her MRW on:
Race 3 TRES CHERE
Race 6 VILAKAZI
Race 7 AUSTPAK
Race 8 SOVEREIGN CHARM
As all affected connections accepted that S Montgomerie was unable to ride at her MRW stewards permitted her to fulfil her engagements.
SUNASTRA dwelt when the gates opened.
During the event CLASSY BLEV suffered a bleeding attack.

Race 4 – 0 - 73 HCP - 1000 metres:
R Oakford rider of PHANTOM VERDE requested to view the stewards patrol film prior to correct weight.
On jumping away GOING DUTCH shifted out and tightened PHANTOM VERDE onto KOOLKANNA ROAD which shifted in.
Near the 650 metres THUMB PRINTS had to be checked off the heels of GOING DUTCH (S Montgomerie).
Stewards established that for some distance prior to the incident THUMB PRINTS was racing tight on the inside of GOING DUTCH. When CULLENS'SHADOW which was racing on the inside of THUMB PRINTS began to take the turn it shifted out slightly taking THUMB PRINTS out towards GOING DUTCH which then shifted in.
S Montgomerie was reprimanded for shifting in when not sufficiently clear and advised her that in similar circumstances in future she must ensure she is 2 lengths clear prior to shifting ground..
PHANTOM VERDE which was following was hampered as a consequence of this interference.
1st BARTER ME 2nd CULLEN'S SHADOW 3rd PELICAN HEAD
Race 5 – 0 - 62 HCP - 1100 metres:
STIRRUP CUP broke through the front gates prior to the start.
On jumping away FRANCAGINO shifted in and hampered MORTORQUE.
When the gates opened BELVIDERE BABE stumbled badly and lost considerable ground as a consequence.
CYAN was reluctant to race throughout the event and finished well back. S Ridler rider of CYAN stated the gelding was reluctant to load in the gates and then refused to stretch and race generously. The Club's Veterinary surgeon inspected CYAN and reported that she could find no apparent abnormalities.
The Club's Veterinary surgeon inspected INVISIBLE CITY subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding had a minor injury to its eye.
SPEND THE MONEY lost both fore plates subsequent to the event.

Race 6 – 0 - 62 HCP - 1100 metres:
DORSETT was slow into stride when the gates opened.
On jumping away BESOFABULEUX shifted in and took VILAKAZI in onto COSTLYEV which was hampered.
In the early stages of the race COSTLYEV had to be restrained to avoid running up on the heels of VILAKAZI.
Approaching the winning post PRINCESS CONNY shifted out and bumped REFLEX.
PRINCESS CONNY had a tendency to hang out in the straight which prevented it's rider P Denton from riding in his normal manner.

Race 7 – ROANT CUP (DIV 1) - 1300 metres:
Mr D Leech trainer of LUCID REFLECTION advised the stewards that he intended to instruct the geldings rider to attempt to ride LUCID REFLECTION off the pace in today's race
In the straight HE'S HERE was disappointed for a clear run initially on the inside of PALMYRA BOY and then between PALMYRA BOY and LUCID REFLECTION.
Stewards opened an inquiry into C Spry's riding of ACTIVATION. Evidence was taken from C Spry and the inquiry was adjourned to a date to be fixed.

Race 8 – ROANT CUP (DIV 2) - 1300 metres:
AMYJAYE POWER stood flat footed when the gates opened and conceded ground as a consequence.
Near the 1200 metres ONLY FEATHERS was taken in and had to be eased by SHOUT OUT LOUD (P Denton) which shifted in. Shortly after this MARCO LARGO which was being ridden forward to hold it's position was taken in by SHOUT OUT LOUD (P Denton) which shifted in. P Denton was reprimanded for shifting in when not sufficiently clear of other runners and advised that in similar circumstances in the future he must ensure he is 2 lengths clear when shifting ground.
Rounding the first turn OVER N OUT which was racing greenly hung out across the heels of EXALATION and had to be checked.
On the home turn AWE AND WONDER was held up for a clear run behind EXALATION.

Race 9 – 0 - 67 HCP - 1200 metres:
STIRUPP CUP broke through the front gates prior to the start.
MISS ENDEAVOUR bounded when the gates opened and lost some ground.
Racing along the back straight BRONZE AUSSIE began to over race up behind other runners. When being restrained BRONZE AUSSIE began to get its head up and hang out.
Near the 700 metres BRONZE AUSSIE hung out across the heels of SIMCONNIA and clipped that geldings heels.

Post race swab samples were taken from all winners.
Pre race samples were taken from INSTRUCTOR, LUCID REFLECTION, HE'S HERE, HAWKS BAY, MOLOTOV, AMYJAYE POWER.
