Race 1 – MAIDEN PLTE - 1000 metres:

On jumping away NOT FOR PROFIT and MAN OF THE CROWD were tightened for room between IGGI DARLING which shifted out and TIMELY EXIT which shifted in. As a result MAN OF THE CROWD had to be eased and lost ground.

During the race IGGI DARLING raced greenly and on a number of occasions rolled in and tightened MAN OF THE CROWD which was racing to its inside.

Race 2 – 0 - 58 - 1600 metres:

AGAINST THE DAY was slow into stride when the gates opened.

B Davis rider of CELESTIAL KINGDOM stated that his mount hung out badly from near the 1200 metres and this was the reason for him racing well off the fence rounding the turn.

Trainers A Trengrove (JESTACONI) and Ms J Robinson (LIVELY LILLIE) were each fined $20 for using club colours on their respective runners.

Race 3 – 0 – 64 HCP - 1200 metres:

DONUT stumbled on jumping away.

When the gates opened IT’S HOME shifted out and tightened HANNESBURG out onto ALANA’S MATE. Shortly after jumping away EXPLOSIVE KISS shifted out tightening IT’S HOME out onto HANNESBURG.

As a consequence IT’S HOME was badly hampered and HANNESBURG had to be eased.

Stewards questioned Ms S Montgomerie rider of IT’S HOME regarding her riding of that gelding in the middle stages of the race.

Ms Montgomerie stated that after being inconvenienced at the start her mount began to race keenly and that she was unable to restrain it. Further that she would have taken a sit behind the leaders had she been able to but as her mount was racing fiercely she finished up four wide at the 600 metres. Stewards noted Ms Montgomerie explanation however expressed their concern that after being back in the early stages she then went forward to be racing four wide outside the leaders rounding the turn.

NABALI was presented at the mounting yard with the incorrect saddle cloth number. Ms J Huish representing Ms T Halter trainer of NABALI was fined $100 for carelessness in the saddling of that gelding (AR140A).

Ms J Cameron rider of NABALI was fined $100 with negligence in that she provided the incorrect saddle cloth number to Ms Huish which resulted in NABALI being saddled with the incorrect saddle cloth number (AR175(k)).

The Club's Veterinary Surgeon inspected LONG SHORTS subsequent to the event and reported that the gelding had suffered a minor injury above its near side eye.

Race 4 – SC HCP - 1200 metres:

Shortly after the start TESTAGOLD was tightened for room between PELICAN HEAD and EXALATION which rolled in.

During the event STILLME suffered a bleeding attack.  Ms S Arnold trainer of STILLME was advised of the requirements under AR53A.

Race 5 – 0 – 70 - 1000 metres:

Rounding the turn SUPASON had a tendency to lay out.

1st DREAM FACE 2nd THUMB PRINTS 3rd KIRIKIRISH

Swab samples were taken from all winners.
