Race 1 - 2 YO PLATE - 1000 metres:
PRINCE ROSSA and NIGHT OPTION were slow to began with when the gates opened.
Approaching the first turn MINNIE TIZ began to hang out and then bucked for a short distance before dislodging the rider and jumping the outside fence.
Mr K Rogerson trainer of MINNIE TIZ was advised that MINNIE TIZ would be suspended from racing for a period of one month and then until such time as it performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in barrier trial.
When MINNIE TIZ shifted out on the corner it took ROCKAHULA BABY out wide on the track and that filly was eased down by its rider.

Race 2 – MAIDEN PLTE - 1100 metres:
As K Gladwin was indisposed the following rider changes were permitted.

BREL dwelt when the gates opened and was then tightened for room shortly after the start by TEAM EFFORT which shifted in away from CRACKALACKIN.
C Atkinson rider of TEAM EFFORT was found guilty of a charge under AR137A.5(a) (ii). The details being that prior to the 100 metres he used his whip on TEAM EFFORT in the forehand manner at least five times more than permitted under the rules.
Stewards acting under AR196(2) ordered that C Atkinson forfeit his riding fee in respect of this race.
Ms L Hopwood rider of CRACKALACKIN was reprimanded for excessive use of the whip on that filly. (AR137A(3)).
1st CANNY CATCH ME 2nd TEAM EFFORT
Race 3 – 0 – 58 HCP - 1300 metres:
JERRYKOOLER was slow into stride when the gates opened.
At the entrance to the straight NABALI was disappointed for a clear run and was forced to ease and shift in when attempting to take a run on the outside of JETACONI (C Lever) with rolled out.
C Lever was reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances in future he must ensure he is 2 lengths clear when shifting ground.
C Atkinson was found guilty of a charge under AR137A.5(a)(i)(ii). The details being that prior to the 100 metres he used his whip on SAMALIDEN in the forehead manner on at least 5 times more then permitted under the rules and in consecutive strides in contravention of the rules.
C Atkinson was advised that stewards acting under AR196(2) ordered that he forfeit his riding fee and winning percentage in relation to his ride on SAMALIDAN.
Stewards having considered the circumstances put forward by C Atkinson suspended the application of the penalty on the following conditions.
That he not offend against the whip rules in any way for the following 1 calendar month. Stewards advised C Atkinson that any breach of the whip rules would result in the above penalty being applied in addition to any penalty for the second breach.

Race 4 – 0 - 63 HCP - 1200 metres:
B Davis rider of MY COMET was found guilty of a charge of careless riding AR137(a). The careless riding being that near the 1000 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when sufficiently clear of GOLDEN IMAGE. As a result GOLDEN IMAGE had to be checked.
B Davis was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on Wednesday 13th July (2 meetings).
The Club's veterinary sugeon inspected SERIOUS COIN subsequest to the event and reported that the gelding had suffered a minor laceration to the mouth

Race 5 – 0 – 76 - 1200 metres:
R Oakford rider of BANKERS LAMP was dislodged en route to the barriers.
ACADEMY MAGIC bounded when the gate opened and last some ground.
In the straight COLONEL JACK had a tendency to lay in.
During the event BANKERS LAMP suffered a bleeding attack.

Race 6 – 0 - 69 HCP - 1600 metres:
LECKEY jumped outwards at the start and bumped MANNING then shifted in and bumped THE CAT.
CARDINDAL ANGEL shifted out at the start onto FORETHOUGHT.
CAVALLINO shifted out on jumping away taking YOSHI BOY out onto HACHIMAN resulting in YOSHI BOY being hampered.
Ms J Cameron rider of COSMIC VISION was fined the sum of $100 under AR 87 for unfastening the chin strap on her skull cap prior to dismounting.

Race 7 – SC HCP - 1600 metres:
SPAKATAK was slow to begin when the gates opened.
LOUKOUMI which performed poorly was examined by the Clubs Veterinary surgeon who reported that she could find no apparent abnormalities with the gelding.
Mr S Brown trainer of KINGSFORD was fined $50 for presenting that gelding with incorrect gear (AR 140A).
1st CLUB LIQUID 2nd SPAKATAK 3rd ROBDON FLYER
Race 8 – GUINEAS HCP - 1600 metres:
Near the 1400 metres POWERFUL PEGASUS had to be eased when tightened for room on the inside of CAN'T AGREE. Shortly after CAN'T AGREE which was also racing tight for some distance had to be eased when tightened for room on the inside of SPIRIT CENT and ITS HOME (M McDuff).
Whilst no one rider was held responsible M McDuff was advised that as the rider on the outside he was in a position to give the inside horses more room and in the opinion of the stewards that is the action he should have taken in this circumstance.
Near the 650 metres ITS HOME rolled in and bumped SPIRIT CENT.
Near the 300 metres CAN’T AGREE had to be eased off the heels of SPIRIT CENT which was weakening.
1st THE RUFFUAN 2nd BABY HUEY 3rd SISTER SWANK
Race 9 – WELTER - 1100 metres:
Shortly after the start PIONEER PRINCE got its head up and shifted in taking TESAGOLD inwards.

Swab samples were taken from all winners.
Pre race samples were taken from HACHIMAN, LET GO JOHNNY, FORETHOUGHT, CLUB LIQUID, LOUKOUMI, ROBDON FLYER, BABY HUEY, DISC JOCKEY, IT'S HOME, SPIRIT CENT, THE RUFFIAN, SISTER SWANK.
