Stewards ordered the withdrawal of DEVADAVE at 1.58 pm as the gelding refused to load into the barriers. Stewards ordered all monies wagered on DEVADAVE to be refunded and all monies wagered on the event prior to the withdrawal of DEVADAVE to be paid as follows:- for the win, face value of the ticket less 19 cents in the dollar. For the place, face value of the ticket less 20 cents in the dollar.

Stewards notified Mr C Pollard trainer of DEVADAVE that the gelding would be suspended from racing for a period of 3 months and until such time as it had performed to the satisfaction of the stewards in a barrier trial including loading into the barriers in a timely fashion. Stewards when considering their action took into account that DEVADAVE had been warned for such behaviour on four previous occasions.
