Race 1 - 2 YO PLATE - 1000 metres:
As P Shiers was to be overweight stewards permitted B Huppatz to replace him as the rider of RIGHT REACTION.
P Shiers stated that he was late finishing trackwork and ran short of time to lose the last bit of weight required.
Stewards accepted P Shiers evidence however advised him that it was his responsibility to ensure he is able to make the weight when he accepts rides.
After being kicked by another runner at the start CITY OF BRIGHTNESS was examined by the Club's Veterinary surgeon who reported that the gelding was unfit to start. Acting on this advice Stewards ordered the withdrawal of CITY OF BRIGHTNESS at 12.53pm. Stewards ordered all monies wagered on CITY OF BRIGHTNESSto be refunded and all monies wagered on the event prior to the withdrawal of CITY OF BRIGHTNESS to be paid as follows:- for the win, face value of the ticket less 2 cents in the dollar. For the place, face value of the ticket less 3 cents in the dollar.
Rounding the first turn PRECIEUX hung out taking DISC JOCKEY and HILLFIRE outwards.
Near the 500 metres DISC JOCKEY had to be checked off the heels of HILLFIRE (C Spry). It was established that RIGHT REACTION racing on the inside of DISC JOCKEY rolled out slightly taking that gelding out towards the heels of HILLFIRE which shifted in. As no one rider was fully responsible for the interference stewards took no action but advised C Spry that in the future he must ensure he is 2 lengths clear prior to shifting ground.
During the event SEVEN BRIDGES lost its off fore plate.
Mr D Leech trainer of CITY OF BRIGHTNESS was fined $50 under AR 140A for presenting that gelding with incorrect gear.
The Club's Veterinary surgeon inspected STEADY GUN KATE which was eased down over the concluding stages and reported that the filly was sore in the back.
Ms M Boothby trainer of STEADY GUN KATE was advised that prior to the filly racing again she must provide a satisfactory veterinary certificate for the filly which must include reference to the above condition.

Race 2 – MAIDEN PLATE - 1100 metres:
On jumping away GLORIA which bounded and was slow to begin was then tightened between ELMEEBA and SPUNKIE MISS both of which shifted.
Also on jumping away MAUZIE and MONDELLO came together.
Rounding the turn VIEWING hung out and as a result raced very wide.
Near the 700 metres MAUZIE had to be eased to avoid the heels of MONDELLO which shifted in to the fence.
Near the 500 metres MONDELLO which was making ground had to be eased off the heels of WARREGO RIVER which was weakening.
The Club's Veterinary surgeon inspected SWINGWING on arrival at the course and advised the stewards that the filly had a swelling on its neck and was unfit to start. Acting on this advice stewards ordered the withdrawal of SWINGWING at 12.40pm.
Mrs J Robinson trainer of WARREGO RIVER was fined $20 for use of the Club's colours, (NT121).
1st ELMEEBA 2nd GENERAL SNIPPETS 3rd MAYBE NADAL
Race 3 – 0 - 58 HCP - 1300 metres:
When the gates opened GOLD LOTTO dwelt and conceded some ground as a consequence.
Shortly after the start INVISIBLE CITY was tightened for room by DAJI which rolled out.
Rounding the first turn GOLD LOTTO, DEPUTY MOON and VENUE were all racing tight. As they made the corner GOLD LOTTO racing on the fence and VENUE, racing to the outside of DEPUTY MOON became unbalanced for a number of strides.
During the event MONTANA SPIRIT suffered a bleeding attack.

Race 4 – 0 - 62 HCP - 1200 metres:
MORE ALLOWANCE was slow into stride when the gates opened.
Rounding the turn PICCONE raced very wide.
1st PICLESIA 2nd BLACKFORD 3rd MORE ALLOWANCE
Race 5 – 0 - 62 HCP - 1100 metres:
On return to scale B Huppatz rider of fifth placegetter BENNETTS LANE was found to be in excess of 0.5kg under his declared weight. Acting under AR 143(a) stewards disqualified BENNETTS LANE and amended the places accordingly.
Stewards interviewed Mr S Brown trainer of BENNETTS LANE and B Huppatz regarding the variance in B Huppatz weight on return to scale. B Huppatz indicated that all the gear he had weighted out with was placed on the horse and was still there on return to scale. Mr Brown stated that whilst he didn't saddle BENNETTS LANE personally there was no gear left in the horses stall so he was confident that all the gear provided by B Huppatz had been placed on the horse.
S Ridler rider of NATMANA was found guilty of a charge of careless riding (AR 137(a)). The details being that near the 900 metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not sufficiently clear of CULLENARY DELIGHT, resulting in CULLENARY DELIGHT having to be checked.
S Ridler was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire at midnight on Wednesday 14th July (2 meetings).
Mr A Trengrove trainer of A WEE DRAM was fined $50 under AR 140(A) for presenting that mare with incorrect gear.

Race 6 – 0 - 67 HCP - 1600 metres:
JUNGLE TESSLA was slow to begin when the gates opened.
On jumping away FLOPITIDOP shifted out abruptly and bumped THE SLEW which had been taken in slightly by COMMANDO RIDGE.
Near the 200 metres MONTE ROCKET rolled out and JORSTON had to be eased as a result.

Race 7 – SPECIAL CONDITION (2) - 1600 metres:
The Club's Veterinary surgeon inspected AGARKAR on arrival at the course and advised the stewards that the gelding had injured it's off fore fetlock en route to the course and was unfit to start. Acting on this advice stewards ordered the withdrawal of AGARKAR at 1.44pm.
CARNEGGAN JESTER shifted in abruptly when the gates opened.
Rounding the first turn REINCARNATION had a tendency to lay out.

Race 8 – DARWIN GUINEAS - 1600 metres:
CURTSEYED broke through the front gate's prior to the start and had to be reboxed.
BLUEHARREB reared over in the gates and became cast. Stewards ordered the withdrawal of that gelding at 5.17pm. Stewards ordered all monies wagered on BLUEHARREBto be refunded and all monies wagered on the event prior to the withdrawal of BLUEHARREBto be paid as follows:- for the win, face value of the ticket less 3 cents in the dollar. For the place, face value of the ticket less 3 cents in the dollar.
On jumping away SINGLE COMMAND shifted out and bumped FLYING SPIN. Shortly after PRINCESS ELLIE shifted out quickly and forced SINGLE COMMAND out onto RAFA, forcing that gelding across the heels of FASTER BUSTER.
CURTSEYED jumped away awkwardly and was then taken outward by JERRYKOOLER.
After passing the 1500 metres FLYING SPIN rolled out taking RAFA which was racing up on it's heels outwards towards NOTIPTHIS which then shifted out sharply.
1st MAHEFFEY ROAD 2nd FASTER BUSTER 3rd MACCA'S DREAM
Race 9 – WELTER - 1100 metres:
When the gates opened BARSTOOL jumped awkwardly conceding considerable ground as a consequence.
Approaching the 1000 metres BLACKSTONE ROSE was taken in by KAPPA which was in turn taken in slightly by CLUB LIQUID. BLACKSTONE ROSE which did not appreciate being tightened lost some ground.
Near the 150 metres CROSSWISE which was making ground had to shift out to obtain a clear run and in so doing bumped BARSTOOL.
During the event BARSTOOL lost its near hind plate.

Post race swab samples were taken from all winners.
Pre race samples were taken from; DIEU SOLEIL,CARNEGGAN JESTER, BLUEHARREB, MACCA'S DREAM, MAHAFFEY ROAD,SINGLE COMMAND.
Stewards adjourned inquiries into the use of the whip by the following riders;
