Race 1 - MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres:
On Friday 3rd September Stewards were advised that T Walsh had taken a fall at track work and was unable to ride at today's meeting. As a result T Walsh was replaced as the rider on the following horses:
Race 2 DORSETT S Montgomerie
Race 4 ROSEBERRY TOPPING B Davis
Stewards advised T Walsh he would not be able to ride at track work or in races until he had produced a satisfactory medical certificate from the Club's approved medical officer.
At the start NORTH VEGAS bounded in the air and was slow away. C Spry rider of NORTH VEGAS stated that the gelding did not handle the wet conditions well going down the back straight.
J Cameron rider of FASLEON stated that she was running out of room between MONDELLO and GLORIA approaching the 650 metres and had difficulty controlling that mare which was over racing. From that point on FASLEON was not competitive.
On approaching the 300 metres GLORIA and MONDELLO bumped.

Race 2 – 0 - 58 HCP - 1000 metres:
Stewards questioned D Robinson rider of HARKTHEHERALDANGLE as to why he raced that mare wide throughout the race. D Robinson stated that the mare did not appreciate the dirt being kicked back into her face and so elected to go wide where he thought she improved. Stewards reminded D Robinson that he was setting a big task for his mount by keeping her that wide throughout the race.

Race 3 – 0 - 63 HCP - 1300 metres:
At the start CHIC OLIVIA jumped awkwardly out onto BLACKFORD.
At approximately 30 metres after the start MORETORQUE began to throw his head in the air and buck. D Robinson rider of MORETOURQUE stated that he thought the gelding had broken down and he attempted to pull him up. When he approached the 900 metres MORETORQUE then put him self vigorously into the race. D Jupp trainer of MORETORQUE stated that the gelding's saddle had slipped and that the horse who had never bucked before resented that.

Race 5 – BENCHMARK 73 HCP - 1100 metres:
Approaching the 900 metres KIRIKIRISH rolled out suddenly taking STATURE out onto EXHALALTION. These three horses then raced tightly into the corner at the 700 metres when STATURE rolled out forcing B Huppatz rider of EXHALATION to ease his mount off the heels of STATURE.
During the event EXHALATION lost it's off fore plate.
