Race 1 - CLASS B HCP - 1200 metres:
On jumping away THE FLYING FOX went inwards and struck the front gate.

Race 2 – WEIGHT FOR AGE HCP - 1200 metres:
During the event EXALATION bled from one nostril.
The Club's Veterinary Surgeon inspected BROOKE'S BIZZO which performed poorly and reported that the gelding had suffered a cardiac arrhythmia. Ms M Boothby was advised that prior to BROOKE'S BIZZO racing again, she must produce a satisfactory veterinary certificate and then trial the gelding in the presence of a veterinarian.
B Huppatz rider of EXALATION was found guilty of a charge under AR 137A (5) (a)(i) and (ii). The details being that prior to the 100 metres he used his whip in the forehand manner on 5 occasions more then permitted and on 3 occasions in consecutive strides.
Stewards acing under AR 196(2) ordered the forfeit of B Huppatz riding fee and 50% of his riders percentage of prizemoney in respect of his ride on EXALATION.

Race 3 – 0 - 58 HCP - 1000 metres:
Acting on veterinary advice that JESTACONI was lame in the near foreleg stewards ordered the withdrawal of that gelding at 4.08pm. Stewards questioned Mr A Trengrove trainer of JESTACONI. Mr Trengrove stated that the gelding had filling in its near fore when they arrived to bring it to the races and that the gelding was fit to race this morning.
On jumping away TRES CHERE and SIGNED AND SEALED came together.
MESSI MAGIC dwelt when the gates opened.
50 metres after the start SIGNED AND SEALED rolled in taking FLYING FACE in onto MESSI MAGIC.
NEVAJOE hung out rounding the turn and was eased down by its rider.
Stewards advised Mr S Brown trainer of NEVAJOE which was reluctant to travel to the start that a warning would be issued against the gelding and if it was to perform in a similar manner in the future some action may be taken.
1st SIGNED AND SEALED 2nd FLYING FACE 3rd MAJOR NELSON
Race 4 – 0 - 63 HCP - 1300 metres:
When the gates opened ROSE MARIE dwelt and conceded some ground.
Approaching the 1100 metres ROSE MARIE had to be eased when GLORIA rolled out slightly. When being eased ROSE MARIE became unbalanced and knuckled.
Ms J Cameron rider of PILOS was found guilty of a charge under AR 137A (5) (a)(i) and (ii). The details being that prior to the 100 metres she used her whip in the forehand manner on 9 occasions more then permitted and 14 times in consecutive strides.
Stewards acting under AR 196(2) ordered the forfeiture of J Cameron's riding fee and 50% of her riders percentage of prize money in respect of her ride on PILOS.

Race 5 – 0 - 69 HCP - 1100 metres:
Rounding the first turn ANGRY CAT got it's head up and raced ungenerously.
JORSTON reared when the gates opened and lost ground.
PANIS ANGELICUS was bumped by FINGAL BAY on jumping away.
1st ROSEBERRY TOPPING 2nd ONLY FEATHERS 3rd THE SLEW
Post race swab samples were taken from all winners.
Pre race swab samples were taken from Chevrolet Lad, Roseberry Topping and Panis Angelicus.
