Race 1 The Henley on Todd Maiden 1400 metres
KILLDERKING (W Kerford) – Steadied off heels into the first turn. Bumped on several occasions at the 400m with another runner.
RUPERT (T Gillett) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Whilst being ridden forward at the 400m was tightened and bumped between runners having to steady off heels and losing ground.
PASSING PARADE (C Spry) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
PENNY FACE (B Davis) – Raced wide early and middle stages of the event. Had to steady off heels about the 300m from runner yielding ground.
SHE’S NICE (R Vigar) – Raced wide throughout.
General: On inquiry to an incident involving RUPERT losing ground at the 400m, Stewards were satisfied that no one rider had ridden in a careless manner causing the interference to that gelding and took no further action.
Race 2: The Battle of the Todd Handicap 1000 metres
Prior to this race, Stewards interviewed trainer L Gillett in regards to the riding instructions she intended to give each rider bearing in mind she had 3 runners.
MYKONOS (M Tyndall) – Commenced awkwardly and inclined to lay in under pressure from the 250m.
RAZOR BURN (C Spry) – Bounded out of the barriers and inclined to race ungenerously along the rails in the middle stages of the event. Rider reported that the filly resented being inside runners.
PURPLE PHENOMENON (T Gillett) – Commenced slow into stride.
Race 3: The Rotary Club of Mbantua Handicap 1200 metres
SUPER BRYAN (P Marks) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
DOUBLE FIVE (W Kerford) – Hampered between runners on jumping. Steadied off heels at the 200m.
PERFECT PARAGON (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide throughout.
ZANDERCAN (M Tyndall) – Jumped awkwardly shifting outwards and bumping with another runner.
BELLE EZ (B Davis) – Hampered between runners on jumping.
CESTOS (D Pisani) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Shifted outwards from the 200m.
JUST TOO HARD (C Spry) – Reared as the gates opened and bounded out bumping with another runner. Stewards advised trainer Mr Connor that as the mare has previously jumped in this manner that they will monitor its next start and a similar occurrence may result in some action being taken. Mr Connor advised that the mare would now be sent to the paddock for a spell.General: D Pisani was reprimanded for careless riding (AR137(a) in that he allowed his mount to shift outwards at the 200m causing DOUBLE FIVE to be steadied off its heels.
Race 4: The Rotary Club of Stuart Handicap 1200 metres
MYSTERY BLACK (T Gillett) ($7) Was declared a late scratching at 5:11 by order of the Stewards after refusing to load in the barriers. Trainer Mr Dyer was advised that prior to that gelding again starting in a race, it must trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards.
As there was no book-maker on course, no betting deductions were applicable.
MR GOOD LOOKING (W Kerford) – Slow into stride. Bumped with another runner at the 300m whilst shifting outwards off heels to obtain a clear run.
BEST A MAN CAN GET (C Spry) – Bumped with another runner at the 300m.
NEVER POINTLESS (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
SHADOW DUNES (P Marks) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
Race 5: The Rotary Club of Alice Springs Handicap 1600 metres
REMBRANDT (P Marks) – Slow into
