MAGIC GREG (M Hart) – Bumped at the start. Yield ground from about the 400m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have sustained a ruptured off fore suspensory ligament and was subsequently euthanized.
BONSTAR EXPRESS (Z Gibbs) – Raced wide throughout.
PARKINSON (V Arnott) – Bumped at the start.
Race 2: Taps Tubs & Tiles PTY LTD Handicap 1100 metres
CESTOS (M Hart) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
CALABAH FLAME (S Ridler) – Rider reported that the mare failed to run on down the length of the straight.
MASKA (B Huppatz) – Bumped with runner on jumping.
Race 3: Remote Concrete NT Trobis Maiden Plate 1000 metres
OSCAR’S FURY (B Huppatz) – Bumped at the start.
SIRTIME (D Ballard) – Bumped at the start.
TIDAL RIP (M Hart) – Reared as start effected and lost some ground.
GETEQUID (Z Gibbs) – On arriving at the barriers, a veterinary examination was conducted after the gelding took charge of its rider in the preliminary and was cleared to start.
PENNY FACE (S Ridler) – Bumped at the 250m.
PANZINI (W Kerford) – Bumped at the 250m.
Race 4: Devils Marbles Hotel Handicap 1450 metres
OAKFIELD REBEL (Z Gibbs) – Knuckled on jumping.
TUTU CANNY (B Huppatz) – Commenced awkwardly.
Race 5: Denis Staunton Memorial Cup 1200 metres
CHASING THE DRAGON (D Ballard) – Knuckled badly on jumping almost dislodging its rider and losing ground. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be sore in the pelvis. Trainer D Ballard was advised she present a veterinary certificate of soundness for the gelding prior to trailling or racing again.
HUSSARS (R Vigar) – Inclined to lay outwards under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.
ENGINE FIFTY FIVE (Z Gibbs) – Steadied off heels into the first turn.
Race 6: Carlton Draught Tennant Creek Cup 1600 metres
ALL FIVES (D Ballard) – Bumped at the start.
PERESSINI (M Hart) – Bumped at the start.
CHESTNUT ROAD (S Ridler) – Bumped at the start and got its head up when being restrained into the first turn.
SHOGUN’S REIGN (V Arnott) – Momentarily restricted for room between runners at the 300m and began to yield ground from there on. Rider reported that whilst the gelding did get tightened at the 300m it was also beginning to yield ground at that point.
Post-race samples were taken from GAMORA, DU BOIS, ALL FIVES.
