ENGINE FIFTY FIVE (N Rose) – Slow into stride and raced wide into the home straight.
LAGO GIRL (C Spry) – Crowded between runners between the 650m and the 600m.
YOUKNOWTHEDRILL (S Ridler) – Slow into stride.
SHORT SHIFT (W Kerford) – Commenced awkwardly.
Race 2: Darwin Horse Floats Handicap 1100 metres
MOOT (R Vigar) – Steadied at the 350m when unable to obtain a clear run.
VIA MAZZINI (M Tyndall) – Raced wide throughout.
ZANDERCAN (B Huppatz) – Inclined to lay out under pressure from the 150m.
KENTUCKY FIREBALL (P Denton) – Raced wide throughout.
SWINGITLIKESAYERS (J Todd) – Lay inwards under pressure over the final 100m with the rider having to stop riding and his mount over the concluding stages.
TALLAROOK (K Gladwin) – Blundered at the start and then crowded for room.
BOROUGHS (C Haddon) – Tightened for room at the start. Raced keenly in the early stages.
LADY FLEETFOOT (F Bergstrand) – Impeded from heels and taken inwards near the 150m.
Race 3: Centralian Advocate Handicap 1100 metres
ZOCALOS (G Watson) $21 – Was declared a late scratching at 1.50pm by order of the Stewards after its rider sustained an injury to his leg after the gelding reared in the barriers. Trainer Mr D Leech was advised that a warning will be placed on the gelding’s barrier manners.
All winning bets placed prior to 1.50pm were subject to the following deductions:

HAND IN GLOVE (W Kerford) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced keenly through the middle stages. Taken out by another runner at the 120m.
SNIP OF MAGIC (T O’Donnell) – Raced wide throughout.
ZIZZELDO (N Rose) – Raced wide throughout.
General: Jockey G Watson was examined by the Paramedics following the race and stood down from his remaining engagements. The following replacements were approved and disseminated:

MCKENNA (S Ridler) – Steadied of heels at the 400m.
SENOR JUEZ (R Vigar) – Bumped at the start.
NEVER POINTLESS (K Gladwin) – Crowded between runners at the start.
FLYING FAY (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Rolled in at 400m.
SHADOW DUNES (B Huppatz) – Tightened for room and restrained near the 700m. Tightened for room and steadied near the 400m.
BEST A MAN CAN GET (C Spry) – Bumped at the start.
EXPORT QUALITY (T O’Donnell) – Bumped at the start and lost ground. Raced wide throughout.
General: On inquiry jockey R Vigar (SENOR JUEZ) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding under AR 137(a) with the specifics being that near the 700m he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear resulting in SHADOW DUNES (B Huppatz) being tightened for room and restrained, losing ground. Jockey R Vigar had his license to ride in races suspended for a period of 2 NT meetings to commence midnight 23 April to expire midnight April 30, 2016.
At a further inquiry it was established that near the 400m FLYING FAY (J Todd) when under pressure shifted in slightly resulting in MCKENNA (S Ridler) being obliged to also shift in causing SHADOW DUNES (B Huppatz) to be tightened for room and steadied.
Race 5: Coca-Cola Plate 1600 metres
BRIDGEY FLYER (S Ridler) – Held up rounding the home turn.
MORE THAN FRANK (P Denton) – A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be mildly lame in the off fore leg.
SHOGUN’S REIGN (B Davis) – Raced wide for the majority of the event.
STATUE OF WARRIORS (F Bergstrand) – Shifted in at the 100m obliging its rider to stop riding and straighten her mount.
BACHELOR PAD (C Haddon) – Failed to negotiate the first turn and lay outwards having to be checked from the heels of another runner.
BIANCONI’S SON (M Tyndall) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with a runner.
DOON BUGGY (K Gladwin) – Commenced awkwardly.
HEART OF RED (W Kerford) – Bumped at the start.
BELLA GIULIETTA (B Huppatz) – Stood flat footed at the start and lost considerable ground. As the mare has now done this at consecutive race starts trainer B Richard was advised it must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.
THE WILD SIDE (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide from the 600m.
Race 6: Scope Building Handicap 1600 metres
FRENCH TUSSON (S Ridler) – Over raced in the early stages.
STRATIGRAPHY (N Rose) – Fractious prior to the start.
ZOE’S GIFT (R Vigar) – Raced wide throughout. Returned with blood in its mouth.
CRUZIERO (T O’Donnell) – Struck its near side hip on the fence when leaving the enclosure and after undergoing a veterinary examination at the barriers was cleared to compete.
Race 7: Red Centre Technology Partners Chief Ministers Cup 1600 metres
ALPHA AURIGA (M Tyndall) – Impeded from heels on straightening.
BEEDEEKAY (C Spry) – Bumped at the start. Steadied when over racing passing the 1200m.
BIG MAN (B Davis) – Bumped at the start.
GRAVITATIONAL (P Denton) –Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.
REVENGEFUL (C Haddon) – Lay inwards under pressure over the concluding stages.
SPARTAN EAGLE (B Huppatz) – Bumped at the start. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that he had commenced to work into the race from the 700m but his mount did not respond to his urgings in the straight and failed to finish the race off as anticipated.
Race 8: Central Australian Removals Handicap 1400 metres
CHICKAMAUGA (K Gladwin) – Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Commenced to over race leaving the 1300m until approaching the 1000m.
RIBERA DEL DUERO (R Vigar) – Fractious in the barriers.
SHOT IN THE DARK (B Huppatz) – Sustained a small laceration to the head enroute to the course and after being examined by the Club Veterinarian was cleared to compete.
FLYING ECO (P Denton) – Restrained off heels at the 1200m.
GEMSET (F Bergstrand) – Clipped the heels of another runner near the 1050m and blundered dislodging its rider. Trainer advised that he must provide a Veterinary certificate of soundness prior to racing again after the mare sustained injuries to both knees and a laceration behind the off side front leg.General: Jockey F Bergstrand was transported to Alice Springs Hospital for observation of a suspected shoulder injury. Stewards adjourned an inquiry into the fall to a date to be fixed.
Post-race samples were taken from all winners and REVENGEFUL (R7).
Pre-race samples were taken from all runners engaged in race 7.
Race 4 – Jockey R Vigar was found guilty of careless riding under AR 137(a) and was suspended for 2 NT meetings to commence midnight 23 April, 2016 and to expire after 30 April, 2016.
Race 3 – Jockey R Vigar was found to have breached AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 4 additional occasions than permitted prior to the 100m and suspended for 1 NT meeting.
Race 8 – Jockey R Vigar was found to have breached AR137A(5)(a)(ii) for using his whip on 2 additional occasions than permitted prior to the 100m (won the race) and was suspended for 1 NT meeting. Stewards ordered that these whip offence suspensions be served concurrently and will therefore commence after the expiration of the careless riding suspension and will expire after midnight 2 May, 2016.
