Race 1: Class 2 1200m DV1

BAGGINS (J Lyon) – was withdrawn by order of the Stewards at 11.51am after the gelding sustained multiple lacerations and abrasions to both front legs in a stable mishap.

ADATTO (J Maskiell) – Failed to muster early speed.

KRONOS (P Denton) – Bounded at the start.

WORLD TRAVELLER (J Todd) – Slow into stride. Raced keenly for some distance leaving the 900m.

RIGHT HERE (F Bergstrand) – Impeded from heels on straightening.

MARY’S RED ROSE (B Davis) – Raced wide throughout. Returned with an abrasion to the off knee.

General On inquiry jockey J Maskiell (ADATTO) was reprimanded for careless riding under AR137(a) for allowing his mount to shift outwards when not clear rounding the home turn resulting in RIGHT HERE (F Bergstrand) being impeded from heels.

Race 2: Class 2 1200m DV2

FINE TAYLOR (J Lyon) – Bounded at the start and commenced awkwardly.

COLESBERG (J Maskiell) – Got its head in the air and lost ground near the 1000m when resenting the kickback.

DON’T’ FORGET TINY (W Davis) – Crowded between runners and steadied leaving the 1000m.

Race 3: 0-58 1100m

NEEDY ROCKET (P Shiers) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised after commencing awkwardly the gelding was hard ridden from the start and got its head down and mistrode near the 1000m and then resented the kickback through the middle stages. As this was the gelding’s first start on the track, trainer D Bates expects natural improvement from today’s performance.

MIGHTY MICK (B Sweeney) – Commenced awkwardly and crowded at the start.

SNOWY BLACK (R Oakford) – Raced without cover in running

BEAU GARCON (J Todd) – Raced wide throughout.

Race 4: 0-64 1600m

GOLDEN BUCKLEBOO (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and veered outwards at the start.

INWOOD (P Denton) – Raced keenly in the middle stages.

LINDWALL (C Spry) – Slow into stride. Raced wide throughout.

STRATUM ON FIRE (J Lyon) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that the gelding did not appreciate the kickback and failed to travel in running and consequently raced below expectations. A veterinary examination revealed no apparent abnormalities but it was reported the gelding did cough on several occasions post race.

OUR SWAGMAN (S Fawke) – Steadied when racing keenly passing the 1300m.

MAZZARO (P Shiers) – Fractious prior to the start. Raced wide from the 500m.

OMINOUS WARNING (K Gladwin) – Bumped at the start.

PATRIA (B Davis) – Slow into stride.

ROAR (J Maskiell) – Dwelt at the start.

CUNNING MOVES (C Spry) – Raced wide throughout.

ICE HUNT (V Arnott) – Commenced to resent the kickback near the 900m after being crossed and consequently was restrained losing ground passing the 700m.

BUCK’S ROW (K Cross) – Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn.

Race 8: OPEN 1000m

Stewards interviewed trainer N Dyer in relation to the riding instructions he intended to issue as his stable had multiple runners in this event.

AFRICAN PULSE (R Vigar) – Raced wide from the 600m.

KISS THE CONDOR (S Ridler) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
