RACE 1: 0-64 HANDICAP 1300M

BRIMARVI CUGAT (M Tyndall) – Bumped at the start. Raced wide throughout.

AUSSIE BOB (S Altieri) – Following the unplaced performance a post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore. Trainer G Lefoe was advised that he must present a vet clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.

MIGHTY TAX (K Brooks) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.


Stewards interviewed trainer P Cole  in regards to the riding instructions he intended to give each jockey as his stable had three runners in the event.

JOLLY BOY (M Tyndall) – Commenced awkwardly and failed to muster early speed. Following the unplaced performance a post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

MAVERICKS (C Spry) – Fractious prior to the start. Cast its near fore and near hind plates in running.

MACON COUNTY (V Arnott) – Commenced awkwardly. Shifted ground inwards when tested with the whip inside the final 100m.

SECOND BASE (S Altieri) – Raced wide throughout.


DISCO (R Oakford) – was declared a late withdrawal at 4.07pm by order of the Stewards after the gelding refused to be loaded into the barriers. Stewards ruled that all bets placed on DISCO were to be refunded and the following deductions were applicable to all successful wagers placed prior to 4.07pm.

Trainer L Walling-Denton was advised that DISCO must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards prior to racing again.

CHICO BUBBLES (M Tyndall) – Had a tendency to lay outwards in the early stages.

GATVOL (C Spry) – Proved difficult to load. Commenced awkwardly and bumped heavily at the start. Raced wide throughout. Following the unplaced performance a post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have an elevated heart rate. Trainer C Spry advised the gelding would now be retired.

WOKE THE LION (K Brooks) – Raced wide throughout.

BUSH CHOOK (S Altieri) – Bumped heavily at the start.

RACE 4 – 0-58 HANDICAP 1600M

Stewards approved a request from trainer C Pollard and granted permission for jockey M Tyndall to ride SUPER SWIFT 1.5kg overweight as no other rider could make the allotted weight. This information was disseminated at 8am.

CRACKAJACK (B Davis) – Bumped at the start.

MAKOWSKY(NZ) (R Oakford) – Commenced awkwardly.

SMASHER (W Davis) – Steadied from heels racing into the first turn.

CHICA CALIENTE (K Brooks) – Raced wide throughout.

LE DEZALEY (F Bergstrand) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Impeded from heels near the 1000m.

IWAUNA (S Ridler) – Raced wide on straightening.


Post race samples were taken from all winners. Pre race samples were taken from BRIMARVI CUGAT, AUSSIE BOB, STILL A LADY, MACON COUNTY, FLAMES OF LIFE, WOKE THE LION, CRACKERJACK & MAKOWSKY.
