ADJUSTER (K Gladwin) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance, rider advised that although obliged to race without cover in running, his mount had raced in a flat manner and was under pressure from the 700m when the pace quickened. A post race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Trainer Mr K Rogerson subsequently advised that the gelding had pulled up lame in both front legs and was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.
MORE THAN FRANK (F Bergstrand) – Carried outwards, bumped and unbalanced losing ground near the 500m and raced wide from thereon.
IDATRICE (G Watson) – Carried outwards, bumped heavily and unbalanced near the 500m. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that despite receiving interference at the 500m his mount was already under pressure from the 600m and in his opinion had raced below expectations. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be sore over the hindquarters. Trainer Mr D Leech was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.
NEW EMPIRE (R Vigar) – Taken outwards to improve and contacted with another runner at the 500m.
General: On inquiry apprentice R Vigar was found guilty of a charge of reckless riding under AR137(a). The specifics being that near the 500m he did angle and ride his mount outwards making contact with MORE THAN FRANK (F Bergstrand) which was bumped and unbalanced and further caused IDATRICE (G Watson) to be bumped heavily and also unbalanced. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account the higher level of seriousness attached to reckless riding, the degree of interference was in the mid range and his previous record in relation to this rule. Apprentice R Vigar had his license to ride in races suspended for a period of 3 NT meetings to expire after midnight 16 April, 2016. Apprentice Vigar was further advised of his right of appeal.

A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
JUST TOO HARD (J Cameron) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
MR GOOD LOOKING (W Kerford) - Trainer Mr N Moody advised of a change in riding instructions in that the gelding would be ridden more prominently if possible. This information was disseminated. Inclined to roll out under pressure over the final 150m.
Race 5: Bernadette Joyner Handicap 1200 metres
