Race 1 TJ Signs Handicap 1200 metres
ZIZZELDO (F Bergstrand) – Inclined to roll out under pressure over the concluding stages of the event.
General: F Bergstrand replaced S Westover (overweight) as the rider of ZIZZELDO. Stewards adjourned an inquiry to a date and time to be fixed into the whip use of apprentice R Vigar when he rode DANGER MOUSE and also not utilising his full claim when weighing out for this event.
Race 2: Van Luenen Diesel Handicap 1200 metres
REMBRANT (K Gladwin) – Jumped awkwardly.
LE COMMANDO (K Connor) – Raced wide rounding the home turn and into the straight.
GIRL HAPPY (F Bergstrand) – Stewards ordered a veterinary examination as the mare was slow to recover after the race and no apparent abnormalities were detected.
JUST A BOB (D Pisani) – After initially refusing to go the barriers, the gelding underwent a veterinary examination prior to starting and was subsequently passed fit to start.
Race 3: Outback Crane Hire Handicap 1100 metres
FULL MARKS (F Bergstrand) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped. Steadied from heels approaching the 600m.
GOLD ZAC (D Pisani) – Raced wide rounding the home turn and into the straight.
MONDO MISS (B Huppatz) – Commenced awkwardly and shortly after was eased out of the event. Rider reported that his mount felt comfortable in its action enroute to the barriers but after commencing he sensed the mare was amiss. A subsequent veterinary examination revealed the mare to be sore in the off hip. Trainer Mr W Savage was advised that prior to again starting in a race or trial, he must produce a veterinary certificate of soundness satisfactory to the Stewards.
Subsequent to the race Mr Savage reported that further veterinary tests revealed the mare to have sustained a fracture to the pelvis and the mare had been humanely euthanized.
COMMAND ATTENTION (K Connor) – Bumped at the start.
General: Shortly after race 3 had been run, the racecourse was impacted by a major power outage affecting all areas of the Club including race coverage on SKY. Stewards were advised by Power and Water Corporation that the likelihood of power returning before the end of the meeting was doubtful. As a consequence Stewards consulted with industry participants, UBet and SKY and the race meeting proceeded with the following amended start times. Race 4 start time to 3:39 and Race 5 to 4:14.This information was disseminated to on-course patrons and via the TRNT Twitter account.
Race 4: Repco Alice Springs Handicap 1000 metres
BEST A MAN CAN GET (T Gillett) – Raced wide entering into the straight.
CELESTIAL ME (B Huppatz) – Rolled out slightly under pressure down the length of the straight.
EMPRESS O’REILLY (R Vigar) – Bumped at the start.
BLUE SHORE (K Connor) – Dipped on jumping and bumped with another runner. Carried wide into the straight by another runner.
Race 5: Central Australian Removals Handicap 1400 metres
HILLBILLY RICH (F Bergstrand) – Commenced to shift out abruptly under pressure from the 100m.
CHOISIR LA ROUGE (J Cameron) – Bumped at the start.
STREET RELATED (R Vigar) – Bumped at the start.
Post-race samples were taken from all winners
Pre-race samples were taken from HILLBILLY RICH, STREET RELATED
All riders were breath tested for alcohol.
