Stewards today in the company of Mr. J Fairbrother, Clubs Veterinary Surgeon inspected CLUB LIQUID.

It was established that CLUB LIQUID was lame in the off fore. Dr Fairbrother stated that the gelding had a foot abscess on the off side. Stewards notified Mr G Leech trainer of CLUB LIQUID that in their view the gelding was a doubtful starter in the Darwin Cup.

Stewards advised Mr Leech that they would again inspect CLUB LIQUID at 7am Monday 3rd August at which time its fitness to start in the Darwin Cup would be established.
