TEQUILA RED (C Spry) – Bumped with another runner at the start and again at the 1250m. Trainer advised that in his opinion the gelding did not see out the 1600m and he will drop back in distance next start before considering a spell.

General: Stewards questioned apprentice L Crow (DOON BUGGY) in regards to her ride in this event. Stewards expressed concern that racing that wide in a small field when there was opportunity to shift in and obtain cover at the 1200m may be detrimental to that runner finishing closer. L Crow was of the opinion that if she had of taken that run in transit, the gelding may have relaxed too much so she elected to stay out wide. Stewards noted her explanation.
