Race 1 HiSense Maiden Plate 1200 metres
PENNY FACE (S Altieri) – Commenced awkwardly.
SHE’S NICE (F Bergstrand) – Had to be resaddled on arriving at the barriers.
SUNSHINE EXEL (W Kerford) – Slow into stride on jumping.
Race 2: Ubet Handicap 1100 metres
LADY PHROMILY (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide entering the home straight.
LUNAR METEOR (C Spry) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
I AM GROUSE (S Altieri) – Knuckled on jumping momentarily unbalancing its rider.
Race 3: 8HA & 969 Sun FM Handicap 1000 metres
BONSAI BOY (F Bergstrand) $10 Was declared a late scratching at 4:25pm on Veterinary advice after being found to be lame in its near side hind. Trainer Mr Lamprecht was advised that prior to that gelding racing again, a veterinary certificate of soundness satisfactory to the Stewards must be produced.
As there was no book-maker on course, no betting deductions were applicable.
VAN PERSIE (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner at the 50m.
ESTAMBUL THIRTEEN (P Marks) – Bumped with another runner at the 50m.
WILD RUN (B Davis) – Commenced awkwardly. Layed outwards rounding the home turn and down the length of the straight causing its rider some difficulties in riding out. A subsequent veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities. Trainer Mr Connor was advised the mare would need to barrier trial in a more tractable manner prior to being entered to race again.
BLAME IT ON RIO (C Spry) – Momentarily inconvenienced between runners on jumping.
Race 4: Mombasa Day Spa and Hair Lounge Handicap 1600 metres
RHYTHM OF CUBA (P Marks) – Checked off heels at the 350m losing some ground.
STRATIGRAPHY (W Kerford) – Bumped with another runner entering the first turn and steadied off heels.
CASINO EXIT (R Vigar) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
LE COMMANDO (B Davis) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner
PERESSINI (K Gladwin) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Angled outwards off heels at the 350m to obtain clear running.
General: On inquiry K Gladwin pleaded guilty to a charge under AR137a for careless riding. The specifics being that near the 350m he permitted his mount to shift outwards when not clear resulting in RHYTHM OF CUBA having to check off heels and lose ground. K Gladwin had his licence to ride in races suspended to commence midnight 4th September and to expire midnight the 10th September. (1 NT meeting). K Gladwin was further advised of his right of appeal.
Race 5: Territory Pest Control Handicap 1400 metres
BEL’S LAD (P Marks) – Bumped with another runner shortly after jumping.
JUST TOO HARD (B Davis) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.
WRITTEN NOTES (R Vigar) – Raced wide in the early and middle stages of the event.
RANDI (F Bergstrand) – Bumped with another runner shortly after jumping and steadied off heels rounding the first turn.
REGATTA DAY (C Spry) – After a disappointing performance, a veterinary examination failed to reveal any apparent abnormalities.
