Stewards today continued the inquiry into the running of Activation in the NT TAB ROANT Gold Cup (Div 1) run at Fannie Bay on Saturday 26th June 2010.

Further evidence was today taken from Mr C Spry rider of Activation and Mr M Hickmott trainer of Activation.

Mr Hickmott the trainer of Activation has been charged under AR135A with failing to advise the stewards of riding instructions he issued to C Spry the rider of Activation. Those instruction resulted in C Spry riding Activation back in the field in the early stages of the above race which is different to the manner the horse had been ridden at its previous starts in Darwin.

Mr C Spry rider of Activation in the above race has been charged under AR135(b), the details being that from near the 350 metres to approximately the 150 metres he failed to ride his mount with sufficient endeavor or vigor so as to ensure that his mount was given full opportunity to obtain the best possible place in the field.

Stewards will reconvene to consider the charges at a future date.
