General:

 The TRSA handicapper informed the Stewards that due to a clerical error RONN’S

MOSS (Race 6) had been allocated 61kg when the correct weight to be carried was 61.5kg.

Acting under the provisions of AR111A(4) Stewards amended the weight and after advising trainer G Clarke this information was disseminated.

Jockey M Tyndall advised Stewards on race morning that she would be unable to make the allotted weight on A LITTLE SKILLED (Race 1) and I WROTE THE BOOK (Race 5). She was subsequently replaced on both runners and fined $100 under the provisions of AR120(b).

Race 1: Trobis 3-Y-O Benchmark Handicap 1200M

MARY'S RED ROSE (K Brooks) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped at the start and again shortly after. Raced wide throughout. A post race veterinary examination revealed the filly to have a slow recovery rate and to be mildly lame in the off hind leg. Trainer S Clarke advised that the filly will now be sent for a spell.

FLAMES OF LIFE (C Spry) – Bumped shortly after the start. Steadied from heels between the 850m and the 750m when racing keenly.

A LITTLE SKILLED (S Altieri) – Bumped at the start. Raced greenly in the back straight. A post race veterinary failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Race 2 – 0-58 Handicap 1200m

KING KAZOU (R Oakford) – Raced wide throughout.

THE PRESTIGE (V Arnott) – Bumped shortly after the start.

SMASHER (F Bergstrand) – Raced wide in the early stages until obtaining cover leaving the 800m.

DUKE OF YORK (R Vigar) – Cast it’s off fore plate in running.

ROYALS (K Brooks) – Bounded at the start and lost several lengths. Taken outwards leaving the 100m to secure clear running. Cast (3) plates in running.

SILVER SEBRING (S Altieri) – A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer D Bates was advised that the mare must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards and then be cleared by a veterinarian following the trial prior to racing again.

ARRAYANES (L Stojakovic) – Commenced awkwardly.

Race 3 – 0-70 Handicap 1100m

After being loaded in the barriers RED MAGNET reared and the saddle shifted. In the interests of safety, horses that had already been loaded for the start were backed out of the barriers whilst RED MAGNET was resaddled. This resulted in a delay of several minutes.

KISS THE CONDOR (R Oakford) – Fractious prior to the start. Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. After missing the start the gelding was then ridden vigorously but had to be restrained after improving onto heels near the 1000m.

TIGRA (L Stojakovic) – Crowded for room between runners and steadied near the 650m.

Race 4 – Maiden Plate 1000m

Stewards interviewed trainer C Pollard in regards to the riding instructions he intended to give each jockey as his stable had 4 runners in the event.

TENNESSEE OUTLAW (R Oakford) – Raced greenly in the straight.

TYPHOON TREV (S Altieri) – Raced wide throughout.

CAPTAIN ARCHIE (K Brooks) – Lay inwards under pressure in the straight with the rider having to stop riding and straighten her mount on a number of occasions.

MARY ZARIZ (L Stojakovic) – Veered inwards at the start and lost ground.

Race 5 – Benchmark 76 Handicap 1300m

Stewards interviewed trainer K Petrick in regards to the riding instructions she intended to give each jockey as her stable had 3 runners in the event.

KAYNO (F Bergstrand) – Raced wide on straightening.

I WROTE THE BOOK (L Stojakovic) – Bumped at the start. Following the unplaced performance a post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

FRENCH TUSSON (S Altieri) – Bumped at the start.

Race 6 – Benchmark 54 Handicap 1600m

The start time of event was amended to 5.42pm at the request of SKY channel.

RONN'S MOSS (R Oakford) – Weight amended to 61.5kg under AR111A(4). Raced wide throughout.

SHINSKY (B Huppatz) – Bumped and unbalanced at the start. Steadied from heels when impeded for clear running passing the 600m. Held up rounding the home turn.

RIBERA DEL DUERO (R Vigar) – Taken outwards near the 250m to secure clear running.

BROWN COAL (M Tyndall) – Compounded from the 600m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a cardiac arrhythmia. Trainer C Pollard was advised that the mare must barrier trial to the satisfaction of the Stewards and then be cleared by a veterinarian following the trial prior to racing again.

FARAJA (C Spry) – Bumped at the start.

TORCIDA (K Brooks) – Crowded between runners and bumped shortly after the start.

EXERT (F Bergstrand) – Bumped shortly after the start. Raced wide in running.

DANCING BOY (L Stojakovic) - Bumped shortly after the start.

MR SEDUCTION (S Altieri) – Bumped inwards shortly after the start. Carried inwards and impeded near the 1500m.

Summary

Post race samples were taken from all winners and runners that finished second in each race.
