Race 1 Gem Cave Fashions on the Field Handicap 1200 metres

This event was put back 10 minutes to start at 12:50 to allow riders on a delayed flight to make the course in time to fulfil their riding engagements.

Prior to this race, Stewards interviewed trainer L Lefoe in regards to the riding instructions she intended to give each rider bearing in mind she had 3 runners.

ESTAMBUL THIRTEEN (L Crow) – Commenced a little awkwardly.

MR GOOD LOOKING (W Kerford) – Inclined to lay out under pressure down the length of the straight.

BEST A MAN CAN GET (T Gillett) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped with another runner.

KENTUCKY FIREBALL (P Roff) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

SWIMMER (K Cross) – Commenced awkwardly and raced wide throughout with no cover.

Race 2: A1 Plumbing Handicap 1100 metres

PURPLE PASSAGE (K Cross) – Commenced awkwardly.

AURUMCERT (B Cornell) – Slow into stride and momentarily tightened between runners.

Race 3: Harvey Norman Alice Springs Young Guns 2 Handicap 1100 metres

DESERT LASHES (K Gladwin) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

LET’S DREAM BIG (L Crow) – Bumped with another runner on jumping and raced wide throughout. Inclined to lay in under pressure down the length of the straight.

MISSLED (B Cornell) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.

MASKA (D Pisani) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.

Race 4: McDonalds Alice Springs Handicap 1000 metres

Prior to this race, Stewards interviewed trainer L Gillett in regards to the riding instructions she intended to give each rider bearing in mind she had 3 runners.

MYKONOS (J Mamat) – Commenced awkwardly and dipped slightly.

AUSBRED ROYAL (T Gillett) – Raced wide throughout.

DESERT LADY (B Cornell) – Was found to have bled from both nostrils post race. Trainer C Cooke was advised that the mare was now subject to the requirements of AR.53 A(1)(b).

Race 5: Gem Cave Melbourne Cup Luncheon Handicap 1400 metres

Prior to this race, Stewards interviewed trainer L Lefoe in regards to the riding instructions she intended to give each rider bearing in mind she had 4 runners.

PURFECT PARAGON (J Mamat) – Commenced awkwardly dipping slightly and the steadied off heels. Raced wide throughout with no cover.

THEATREMAN (T Gillett) – Commenced awkwardly.

Post-race samples were taken from all winners.
