Race 3 ALSOADAMAS  - V Arnott  Race 4 MELANION – W Davis

Race 1: TROBIS Handicap

ANOTHER MAN’S GAIN (M Hagley) – Taken outwards near the 200m to secure a clear run.

REDWOOD GARDENS (S Ridler) – Raced keenly in the early stages and as a result was steadied from heels near the 1000m. When questioned, rider reported the gelding commenced to lay inwards from the 800 and as a result he was unable to fully test his mount in the home straight. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

WESTERNPORT (F Bergstrand) – Raced without cover from the 600m. Shifted inwards under pressure near the 200m with the rider having to stop and straighten her mount.

BAGGINS (K Cross) – Bounded at the start.

Race 2: 0 - 70 Handicap

MURPHY (V Arnott) – When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that the gelding had raced keenly in the early stages and after racing tightly with another runner into the first turn her mount was under immediate pressure and was also buffeted between runners when yielding ground near the 400m. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have returned with an abrasion to near hind heel and to be mildly lame in the off hind leg.

ZOCALOS (S Ridler) – Slow into stride.

FRENCH TUSSON (K Cross) – Race wide throughout.

Race 3: CLASS 2 Handicap

SO STOIC (M Hagley) – Bounded at the start. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider expressed the opinion that the gelding may not have appreciated racing over the increased distance of today’s event.

THE WILD SIDE (F Bergstrand) – Commenced awkwardly.

PUZZLED PRINCESS (K Cross)– Tightened for room and steadied losing ground near the 700m.

General – On inquiry jockey J Lyon (LILLIE EVANGELENE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) with the specifics being that near the 700m he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear resulting in PUZZLED PRINCESS (K Cross) being tightened for room and steadied losing ground. J Lyon had his license to ride in races suspended for 1 NT meeting to expire after 11 November, 2017.

Race 4: 0 - 58 Handicap

KAPTAN APOLLO (R Oakford) – Raced wide throughout.

EVIL MISS (P Shiers) – After proving difficult to load and racing below expectations, trainer D Bates advised that the mare would now go for a spell.
