Race 1 - MAIDEN PLATE - 1200 metres

As the gates opened MORE ALLOWENCE was slow away and then continued to lose ground.

On jumping away WARREGO RIVER was slow away. Also OUR DARBY ROSE and SONO PICCOLO bumped on jumping.

Approaching the 500 metres DAISY GRACE had to steady slightly off the heels of OUR DARBY ROSE which rolled in.

1st JIMMY JAZZ, 2nd STANCE, 3rd SONO PICCOLO

Race 2 - 0-66 HCP - 1100 metres

ALCARNTSPELL had its tongue tie adjusted before being loaded into the barrier.

1st THUMB PRINTS, 2nd ALCANTSPELL, 3rd NIGGLE

Race 3 - 0-76 HCP - 1600 metres

Near the 600 metres WONSOK ridden by D Bates fell and inturn GOLDRIDGE ridden by S Ridler and AKA JANE ridden by S Sheargold which were travelling behind WONSOK were taken down.

Subsequent to the event D Bates rider of WONSOK reported to stewards that he was of the belief that his mount had brushed PATERNITY with it's nearside front and unbalanced his mount causing him to lose it's footing and fall.

D Bates and S Ridler were advised by stewards that they must produce a medical certificate satisfactory to the stewards before riding again.

Subsequent to the event apprentice S Hillibrand rider of OLD SOLDIER was found guilty of a charge under AR 118A in that after weighting out he proceeded to change his boots to another pair without the permission of the stewards S Hillibrand was fined the sum of $500.

1st SPAKATAK, 2nd HACHIMAN, 3rd PATERNITY

Race 4 - 0-58 HCP - 1600 metres

C Lever replaced D Bates as the rider of CENTURY DANE after that rider became indisposed.

As the gates opened CHARISTEAS was slow into stride.

1st HE'S SO SWEET, 2nd HET MO, 3rd MALIBU DOLL

Race 5 - 0-62 HCP - 1200 metres

J Cameron replaced D Bates as the rider of FASLINATION after that rider became indisposed.

Mr G Clarke trainer of SUN FOR SALE was fined $50 under NT129 for failing to declare a rider by the prescribed time.

1st FRESH TELL, 2nd GILBEAU, 3rd LEGAL PURSUIT

Race 6 - 0-58 HCP - 1600 metres

Subsequent to the event stewards questioned W Davis rider of SUDDEN TEMPTATION regarding the horses poor performance. W Davis reported to stewards that the horse raced a very tired horse and was reluctant to race and after pushing forward at approx the 500 metres it over reacted and threw it's head up and wanted no part in racing. W Davis also reported that trainer K Petrick was now spelling the horse.

The Clubs Veterinary surgeon inspected SUDDEN TEMPTATION and reported no apparent abnormalities.

1st SLICK SPIRIT, 2nd CASH ON ARRIVAL, 3rd FILIGREE

Post race samples were taken from all winners.

Pre race samples were taken from Hachiman, Paternity, Spakatak.
