ALSOADAMAS (C Spry) – Bumped at the start. Lay outwards rounding the home turn. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near hind leg. Trainer C Spry was advised that he must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.
LADY ALCATRAZ (B Davis) – Inclined to lay inwards throughout the event. A post race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.
HOT DEMAND (S Fawke) – Knuckled at the start.
EDGE OF CHAOS (M Tyndall) – Slow into stride and bumped. Steadied from heels at the 450m.
MOODY MISS (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly and then bumped outwards having to steady from heels.
DUTTON BAY (J Lyon) – Raced wide throughout.
Race 2: 0-58 1000m
GLOBAL ICON (F Bergstrand) – Bumped at the start.
DARK WHIRLWIND (B Davis) – Bumped at the start. Bumped by another runner at the 200m and momentarily unbalanced.
THERMOGENIC (R Oakford) – Tightened between runners at the start and failed to muster early speed despite the urgings of its rider.
CRESTA CHROME (M Tyndall) – Commenced awkwardly.
VIOTTI (J Todd) – Bumped at the start.
PUZZLED PRINCESS (K Gladwin) – Commenced awkwardly. Raced wide throughout. Lay inwards under pressure down the length of the home straight and in doing so bumped another runner near the 200m.
Race 3: 0-62 1600m
MARINA (S Fawke) – Shifted inwards near the 1300m.
ZAP (J Lyon) – Slow into stride.
MULLIGAN FALLS (W Davis) – Bumped and crowded at the start.
EXONERATE (P Shiers) – Bumped and crowded at the start. Steadied from heels and taken outwards leaving the 1300m.
MISS MOSH (J Todd) – Commenced awkwardly.
CHOICE APPROACH (F Bergstrand) – Fractious prior to the start. Veered inwards at the start unbalancing the rider and bumped another runner.
MAZZARO (B Huppatz) – Bumped and crowded at the start.
RUSTIC DEBUTANTE (V Arnott) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped with another runner. Raced wide throughout.
SNOWY BLACK (B Davis) – Tightened for room and checked losing ground near the 1300m.
WESTERNPORT (S Tsaikos) – Bumped and crowded at the start. A post race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the near fore leg. Trainer S Lawlor was advised that she must present a veterinary clearance for the gelding prior to racing again.
General – On inquiry jockey S Fawke (MARINA) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding under AR137(a) with the specifics being that near the 1300m he permitted his mount to shift inwards when insufficiently clear resulting in SNOWY BLACK (B Davis) being tightened for room and checked, losing ground. Jockey S Fawke had his license to ride in races suspended for 2 NT meetings to commence midnight 4 August and to expire after 11 August, 2018. In addition, he was fined the sum of $500. He was advised of his right of appeal.
Race 4: Maiden 1600m
OH SO CLASSY (J Lyon) underwent a veterinary examination at the barriers and when found to be lame in the off fore was declared a late scratching by order of the Stewards at 3.53pm. The following deductions were applicable to all successful bets placed prior to the late scratching.

When questioned trainer N Dyer reported that he had no specific soundness concerns with the mare leading up to the event and was advised that he must present a veterinary for the mare prior to racing again.
BARKLEY (J Maskiell) – Steadied from heels shortly after the start.
BENAZAGAIN (P Shiers) – Commenced awkwardly and bumped.
CAN LA (W Davis) – Shifted outwards under pressure near the 150m.
DR HOMER – (M Tyndall) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
EL GENERAL (K Gladwin) – Bumped and unbalanced at the 150m when under pressure.
CEDAR FALLS (V Arnott) – Veered outwards and away from another runner at the 150m and bumped.
TERRITORY TITAN – (S Fawke) – Bounded and awkwardly away.
Race 5: 0-66 1300m
WAS AGONA (P Denton) – Impeded for clear running from the 800m to the 600m.
MOORE ALPHA (J Todd) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure down the length of the straight.
RAKITIKI (J Maskiell) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
MURPHY (V Arnott) – Commenced slow into stride.
HEART OF RED (C Spry) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner.
BAKER’S DOZEN (K Gladwin) – Bumped with another runner on jumping.
HATTAN MAN (S Fawke) – Returned having bled from the right nostril. Trainer J Hickmott was advised that the gelding must perform in a satisfactory gallop in the presence of the Stewards prior to racing again.
Race 6: 0-76 1300m
THE CAPTAIN – (J Lyon) – Bumped with another runner nearing the winning post.
METALLIC CROWN – (B Davis) – Bumped with another runner on jumping. Inclined to lay inwards under pressure over the concluding stages and bumping with another runner nearing the winning post.
PATRONIZING – (P Hall) – Commenced awkwardly bumping with another runner and mistrode shortly after.
MAVERICKS – (K Gladwin) – Fractious in the barriers.
Swab samples were taken from all winners. Pre race samples were taken from ALSOADAMAS, MOODY MISS, EXONERATE, CHOICE APPROACH, MOUSSAMBANI, EL GENERAL, LARRICONI, RHYTHMICAL, THE CAPTAIN, PATRONIZING.
