General - Stewards today conducted compliance checks and stable inspections which included examinations of all runners engaged to compete at today’s meeting.

Race 1: 0-58 Handicap 1000m

SHINING MANE (P Shiers) – Bumped heavily and unbalanced at the start.

STREET ROYALE (R Vigar) – Shifted ground outwards rounding the home turn and bumped with another runner.

SWINGITLIKESAYERS (S Cahill) - Commenced awkwardly and lost ground.  Shifted ground inwards under pressure passing the 150m.

EVIL MISS (P Denton) – Bumped by another runner rounding the home turn.

ANOTHER MAN'S GAIN (S Ridler) -

INFERENTIAL (C Spry) - Commenced awkwardly and failed to muster early speed.

OH SO JAZZY B Huppatz) - Commenced awkwardly and bumped with SHINING MANE at the start.  Had a tendency to lay inwards rounding the first turn.

TALLAROOK (K Gladwin) - Raced wide throughout.

Race 2 – 0-62 Handicap 1200m

FRISKY ALBERT (K Oakford) - Bumped at the start.

IT'S A PIPEDREAM (S Ridler) – Knuckled at the start.  Rider reported that his mount commenced to race fiercely when crossed by another runner leaving the 1000m and was continually steadied from heels until leaving the 600m.

EMPRESS O'REILLY (NZ) (P Denton) – Bumped heavily and unbalanced at the start. When questioned regarding the unplaced performance rider advised that after losing ground at the start, his mount had resented the kickback and he elected to shift out into clear running and subsequently raced wide throughout and as a result he felt his mount did not finish off the race as anticipated. A post-race veterinary examination was conducted with no abnormalities detected.

GARRETT COUNTY (F Bergstrand) – Bumped at the start. Shied inwards and away from another runner near the 700m and became unbalanced after contacting the running rail. Returned having cast its off fore plate.

BELDAN (J Todd) - Commenced awkwardly and buffeted between runners.

Race 3 – 0-62 Handicap 1600m

QUANTUM DOT (K Oakford) - Commenced awkwardly and bumped with BROWN COAL at the start.

WORTHINGTON (P Denton) - Commenced awkwardly.

AMADEO (P Shiers) – Commenced awkwardly.  Raced keenly through the middle stages.

CALCULATION (W Davis) – Crowded at the start then dipped from heels.

POT BLACK (S Cahill) - Commenced awkwardly.

DANCE THE BEAT (V Arnott) – Bumped with another runner on a number of occasions between the 1000m and 800m.

IDATRICE (S Ridler) - Raced wide throughout.  Bumped with another runner on a number of occasions between the 1000m and 800m.

ARROGANT (J Geppert) - Commenced awkwardly and lost ground. Raced wide from the 600m.  Shifted ground outwards when under pressure in the straight.

BROWN COAL (M Tyndall) – As the rider reported that the gelding felt awkward in its action, a post-race veterinary examination was conducted with no abnormalities detected.

Race 4 – Trobis Maiden Plate 1300m

DIRECT ATTACK (P Shiers) - Raced wide through the early and middle stages.

MEET MY BRO (R Vigar) - Raced wide throughout.

BELLA GIULIETTA (B Davis) – Stood flat footed at the start and lost three lengths.  Trainer B Richard was advised that a warning will be placed on the mare’s reluctance to jump with the field.

GASOLINE ALLEY (NZ) (P Denton) – Steadied off heels when racing keenly between the 900m and 800m.

PENNY FACE (C Spry) - Commenced awkwardly.

Race 5 – 0-66 Handicap 1300m

CADMAN (R Vigar) - Raced wide throughout.

TIPSY ON RED (W Davis) – Impeded near the 1200m.  Steadied outwards near the 1000m.

NORTHERN STORM (C Spry) – Slow into stride.

JUST TOO HARD (J Todd) – Had a tendency to lay inwards through running.

ZOCALOS (F Bergstrand) – Lay outwards under pressure inside the 200m.

Race 6 – 0-76 Handicap 1300m

GOLD BUNDLE (D Pisani) – Knuckled at the start.

STEREOSONIC (NZ) (R Vigar) - Bumped at the start.  Lay outwards through the middle stages.

TERIO TOOL (B Davis) – Bumped and crowded at the start.  Raced wide from the 800m and hung outwards from the 600m.  A post-race veterinary examination was conducted with no abnormalities detected.

Summary

Swab samples were taken from all winners and PERFECT PAUSE. Pre-race samples were taken from EMPRESS O’REILLY, QUANTUM DOT, WORTHINGTON, AMADEO, IDATRICE, MOUSSAMBANI, OLIVARES, DE STARSANDCIRCLES and all runners engaged in race 6.
