Interstate bookmakers wishing to field

To register your interest in fielding at the Darwin Cup Carnival you must contact the Racing Manager Lindsay Lane on 08 8941 1566. If you wish to field at the Alice Springs Cup Carnival you must contact the Manager Andrew O’Toole on 08 8952 4977. If a site is available, you will be required to contact Eddie Berry at Racing, Gaming and Licensing in Darwin (phone 08 8999 1312) to gain a Northern Territory bookmakers license.

Separate to that license, a permit must be granted by the Principal Racing Authority to field at the races. Application forms for this permit are enclosed along with 4 clerk’s permits. If additional clerk’s applications are required please contact our office. The application forms must be accompanied by the appropriate fees when submitted and can be forwarded back to the Principal Racing Authority in the envelope provided or lodged on your arrival in Darwin, provided this is prior to Cup Weekend. A tax invoice will be held for collection at the Darwin Turf Club office if payment is made in advance.

Standup fees are as follows (effective 1st July 2010):

Category 1

Darwin Cup, Palmerston Spring - $420 inc. GST

Category 2

Other Carnival Days - $260 inc. GST

Category 3

June Meetings, Melbourne Cup, VRC Derby Day, Boxing Day, Australia Day, St Patrick's Day, ANZAC Day - $220 inc. GST

Category 4

Saturday and Public Holidays - $165 inc. GST
(Grandstand) - $110 inc. GST

Others

Friday (Twilight) - No charge
Phantoms - $110 inc. GST

Standup fees may also be paid in advance or prior to Cup Weekend (unless by prior arrangement).
