Strapper/ Stablehand
You care for racehorses in stables including: cleaning boxes and yards, feeding, grooming and rugging horses, preparing horses for work and attending horses on raceday.
Personal Qualities
You are energetic but patient and calm, you enjoy working with horses and like outdoors work. You like being busy and don't mind working split shifts. You have good observation skills and can work well in a team.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience with horses is always a favourable attribute, however if you are interested in a career as a stablehand and or strapper there are a number of courses, which you can complete;
Currently Charles Darwin University offers some certifications.
Opportunities
There are a number of opportunities to work as a strapper or stablehand, the TRNT recommends applicants contact individual Trainers for work experience.
